C J's Tavern
Cuisines: American
Description: This restaurant is the only place in the downtown that was open for this week in July when we stayed at the hotel. The other place was a pizza place but this is right next door and down some steps next to the Hotel Coolidge. It is sports bar and they have a grill. The burgers here are the best we have ever had! Really, the food was exceptional every time we ate there, which was almost daily. The burgers are worth coming for even if the place is just a sports bar type place. People are really nice, drinks good, but the BURGERS are GREAT!

When we went down the stairs and into the Bar, we knew it would be an experience. There was no other place open for breakfast on Sunday Morning and...so, off we went. What a surprise! The family that must own the bar was there...children in tow...and we were truly welcomed and served like royalty.

We sat at the bar...tables were available...and somehow were were now in the family...discussing the upcoming Patriots game....just wonderful.

The bacon and eggs were done well...the breakfast sandwich the same. This place has a t-shirt tacked tot he ceiling...patches from local law enforcement on the wall...cozy tables and warm hosts.

CJ's is a very small bar under the post office. You would never think the food would be good, but it is! The wings were lacking, but the burger and sandwiches are great!
