Coffee as good as Starbucks. Baked goods that make you not care about your waist measurements. Healthy and local. But wait until you try their Kale, Quinoa, and citrus salad!
In warm weather, I suggest you purchase your meal and then go sit in the corner park by the river to enjoy it.

“Amazing”
Reviewed 12 March 2014

Folly Foods is probably the best thing that has ever happened to Wilmington Vermont. I am not one for coffee, but I get a juice/ smoothie at least once a week there. I have never had a better smoothie!! It is a small cafe, but the organic, all natural feel it has is great. They have amazing food you can grab on the go, both desserts and breakfast type things.

This is the best cafe in the entire world, and worth a visit if you are anywhere close to Wilmington!

“Local hit not so great”
Reviewed 7 March 2014

i was anxious to try this place as my own inn had horrible coffee and the rave reviews for Folly Foods were promising. The cafe occupies a small storefront near downtown Wilmington with seating for only a few people and a limited menu of coffees, teas, smoothies, pastries, and i guess they have soup for lunch, but mostly this is a coffee place.

The ambiance of the place is fine; it's clean and neat and the woman who served us i suppose is also the owner or co-owner. She was very pleasant.

Unfortunately, the coffee offered here is like so many other American cafes i've been disappointed by, though a step up from the Folgers offered by my inn. They didn't have a dark roast, so i was in trouble from the start, but i tried their Kenyon which had a strange taste and was weak enough that i had a hard time finishing it. Really bad. My partner and i sampled some of their pastries and they were ok but nothing special.

i have no doubt this is the best cafe in town, though if you want coffee i found better at the Anchor restaurant. People seem to be raving about this place but i couldn't see why. If you're a coffee snob like i am, you'll be disappointed.

Dear Burrlamb,

Thank you for your review and thoughts re. your recent visit to Folly Foods. Each review is critical in providing travelers the information they need to guide them to a product and service that is important to them. Unfortunately in your desire for a dark roast we steered you towards the Kenyan for your coffee choice, one of our single origin coffee's. The Kenyan is a beautiful bean with distance and unique qualities, a bold full bodied bean with a crisp finish roasted medium to highlight its origin distinction. Our house blend, the crowd pleaser with a blend of three beans, two medium and one dark roast perhaps would have satisfied your needs better. Each cup being brewed to order assures that the full profile of the bean(s) are showcased. It seems logical that you found the mass produced coffee more to your liking. If you are ever in our great town again be sure to stop in so we can discuss the fine art of coffee and its brewing. I am confident that we will be able to brew a cup to your liking.

Kind Regards, Peter Wallace, Co-Owner, Baker/Gatherer

“Fantastic spot for Coffee, Tea, Cookies Soup and Healthy Foods”
Reviewed 5 March 2014

We have been going to Folly Foods since it opened in the Summer of 2013 and it just keeps getting better. Peter and Kathleen, the owners, are incredibly warm and make delicious drinks and food. Smoothies, coffee, cookies, soups,......its all good. There is even a home made donut covered in real bacon pieces for Homer in you. Its an amazing place in fantastic town in Southern Vermont.
