We were greeted with true Southern hospitality and promptly seated by the window. The menu has a wide selection of great dishes. I ordered the French Dip which was the best I've had in years. My wife's Chicken Almond Joy was gorgeous (her words) and good to the last bite. The bread was absolutely fantastic. Our waiter was very attentive and a real joy to speak with. We will definitely be returning to this fabulous little restaurant which was the RR Station the Bedford Boys left from to go fight in WWII. Too many never returned.

The menu has great variety in both price and choice. We had a large group and some got steak for a decent price and some got the even less expensive sandwiches and burgers. The service was fantastic and friendly even with a party of 14 people. Fast and efficient. It was well worth it.

Traveling the blue ridge parkway and found Bedford as the place to stay for the night. The old liberty station was recommended. The service, food, and atmosphere was great. Two can eat for under 30 bucks and staff was accomodating for gluten free patrons.

We had lunch here primarily to find out why Harry's Cheesecake is "famous". Well it is famous because it is excellent! We tried three of them: Key Lime, Blueberry and Red Velvet. All were great. The Red Velvet is related to the cake by name only, and by looks. According to Harry, the ingredients are totally different except for the coloring agent. It tasted like a red velvet cake and even had the texture of a cake, but was a pure cheese cake.

We also had two sandwiches. The crab cake sandwich which was very, very good; and the fried catfish which also was very good.

We also had two trains pass by the window while we were there. We like trains.

We stopped here for lunch on our way to the impressive World War II Memorial. The restaurant, the site of an old railroad station, is both inviting and interesting. It has a lounge with a raised fireplace in addition to the dining area and a "Board Room" where private functions can be held. When you visit, be sure to read the last page of the menu which tells the railroad history.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. My elderly mom ordered the chicken and spinach soup. My husband had the grilled chicken sandwich/Caesar salad combination. I had a scrumptious salad of greens topped with well-prepared grilled chicken, dried cranberries, candied pecans, Bermuda onions and blue cheese crumbles. Delicious! The service was attentive and helpful. We will return the next time we're in the area.
