Preston's offers a wide menu. Brunches as well as lunch and dinner. Conveniently located in The Inn at Virginia Tech but open to the public.

We got in to the Inn At VA Tech late and tired, and did not want to go out to find a restaurant, so we tried what the hotel had to offer. Contrary to what you usually expect in a hotel restaurant, Preston's is superior. The service was good, and the food was a treat. If this was not the best shrimp and cheese grits I ever had, it was certainly in the top 10 (This is a true standard of excellence that Northerners probably don't understand!) The bread rolls were really burn-your-fingers just out of the oven, and excellent. Good wine list. Try Preston's if you are in the Blacksburg area and looking for a good meal.

I have to say I am a little gun shy of buffet breakfasts. The ones that are included in most hotels are a glorified continental breakfast or are just cold. Preston's breakfast buffet was everything you'd want in a breakfast buffet. First the price is affordable (not $25 for eggs and pastries). With an omelet station (with some unique items like parmesan cheese!), mix your own yogurt, British breakfast (salmon, hams, cheese), and the American standards (eggs, bacon, oatmeal, cereal), this buffet had something for every taste. The service was friendly. I enjoyed especially chatting with chef from Mississippi. He helped me start smiling early in the morning. We will be returning to this buffet on future trips to VT.

My husband and I eat here a lot. We usually go to Preston's when they have a prix fixed menu on holidays. We ate Christmas Eve dinner at Prestons and everything was delicious. Service is good and they usually have live music. If you don't want to pay Preston's prices, there is a lively little bar called "Continental Divide" right next to the restaurant that serves awesome bar food with a creative twist for lower prices.
