The camp sites are large enough to fit a 8-10 person tents. The sites are used for both tents and trailers. The site has both bathrooms and hot showers. There are showers on the beach as well if there is a need to remove the salt before going back to the camp site. The beach is extremely private and extremely clean. The water dept is perfect for kids because is not very deep at all. Overall, if you are looking for a new camp site, I would recommend Kiptopeke as your next destination. You won't regret it.

Just a sweet little well run park with helpful staff and great sea views. Hiking, fishing and even overnight accommodations are all you could want in a State Park.

What an amazing park! We camped there over the weekend and plan to come back for more. The tent campsite is very beautiful, private (unlike the RV camping area), clean, a very short walk to the swimming-only beach. There are showers and changing cabins on the beach on the pier side (toward the camp store and the huge pile of sand perfect for digging into and jumping and sliding on). Apart from the shallow, warm, quiet waters of the beach, there are lots of trails to explore, a fishing pier, fishing and crabbing beach, canoes and kayaks for rent. The park offers lots of activities for families, so check the schedule before you go (they also give a leaflet at the entrance). The days we were there they had ranger-led nature hikes, geocaching class, campfire storytime, family fishing (rods and bait provided for free), crabbing. Every first Saturday there's a ranger-led kayaking trip to the concrete barges. Also, you can borrow a GPS unit from the park office for free and go geocaching in the park on your own (although if you are new to geocaching, it might not be the best option since there are no clear instructions provided and most staff don't seem to know how to use the units). Another must-do thing, especially with young kids - upon entering the park, ask the staff for an Explorer Backpack. It's free and you get to use it for a whole day. It's a huge pack filled with books for kids and adults, nature guides, tree/flower/fish/bird identifiers, binoculars, catching nets, etc.
