We went to the Kings Creek Inn two weeks ago. It was a lovely place to spend a weekend and we'd recommend it highly! Dawn and Jim were wonderful hosts and Dawn is a superb chef! The dining room was so charming with the huge fireplace all aglow. The crab cakes, salmon and Amaretta French Toast was fabulous! We could see Pfeiffer Riding Stables across the creek from the Inn and it was so convenient to Cape Charles and the wonderful shops and galleries that we visited. That little town has a bit of everything to enjoy! We went to a wine & chocolates social at the wine shop, bought several bottles of gourmet vinegars at Drizzlers and loved the Art Gallery in town. We recommend Kings Creek Inn whole-heartedly and we look forward to going back!

Room Tip: We had the William Room. The bed was wonderful...fireplace was not working at the time though.

The night before we stayed at Kings Creek Inn there was a full moon. On a total whim we decided it would be nice to have a little getaway. We had been to Cape Charles on a day trip earlier in the summer and we thought an overnight stay would be a great idea. By pure luck there was a cancellation at the Inn and we were able to make a very last minute reservation. The home and grounds are beautiful and our hosts were extremely gracious. We had dinner in the restaurant and a breakfast in the morning not to be missed. Sitting on the expansive lawn, viewing a glorious sunset - complete with herons on the water - left a impression not soon to be forgotten. It's just a beautiful place!

We spent a night at Kings Creek Inn during September 2012 on a driving holiday through Maryland and Virginia. It proved to be a highlight of the holiday and we only wish we had longer to relax and enjoy the property, surroundings and hospitality... As it was we had a great stay and fabulous dinner - best crab cakes of the holiday - delicious!!! Not to mention breakfast! We left very well fed and very sad to have to move on so soon. Jim and Dawn are consummate hosts and the whole setting is sublime - thoroughly recommended.

We stayed in this beautiful, historic brick home for our wedding anniversary. The room (the Mary Suite) is large and well-appointed. The owners are friendly and accommodating. The restaurant serves delicious food and offers a nice wine list. The staff is great. We'll do this again!

wonderful hosts, beautiful setting, very clean, immaculate, great breakfast. on our next trip to florida this place is a must stop!! The location was most picturesque with the most beautiful sunset. (this is the end of my review. I am a person of few words so the "200 character minimum" is really quite a stretch for me.)

My husband and I visited King's Creek Inn back in March. We had just gotten married in February and wanted to get away for the weekend to somewhere relatively close to home, quiet, romantic and full of beauty...well, we found EVERYTHING we could imagine and more. Thank you Jim and Dawn...it was truly a blessed weekend. The room was great, the views were great, the food was fantastic, the bed...soooo comfy!

Room Tip: We peeked into the empty rooms as we walked through the Inn...ANY ROOM would be wonderful!

This amazing property's history can't help but to be part of the experience of staying there. Dating back to the 1700s, the house had a nasty fire decades ago, but was brought back to its majestic original self by a thoughtful, caring contractor. The setting is perfect, with backyard views down peaceful and picturesque Kings Creek. The rooms are well designed and comfortably furnished. The bathrooms are modern and comfortably functional. And the breakfasts are deliciously, and lovingly prepared, to be served and eaten in whatever space that appeals to the guests. We would not hesitate to stay at the this inn whenever we are in the area.

Room Tip: There are no elevators, so if you have a lot of luggage, you might want to stay clear of the rooms o...
