“the ONLY place to stay!”

First, if you found Cape Charles - congratulations. Second if you found this place to stay - good job! It is a hidden gem! Great breakfast, new/clean rooms, amazing atmosphere, friendly hosts, and I would go so far as to stay I wouldn't go to Cape Charles if I wasn't staying here.

We had planned to stay at Hotel Cape Charles for four nights as a way to kickstart our vacation. Fools. On day two, we realized that we had stumbled into the vacation we were yearning for and booked the rest of our nine-day vacation at the hotel. The shops line one side of Mason Street and run from the Chesapeake Bay to Rayfield's Pharmacy--seven blocks in all. In the middle of this street is the airy, modern, glass-fronted Hotel Cape Charles. The rooms are crisply designed, private and the beds are, we promise, life improving.

And as gorgeous and comfortable as the rooms are, it is the staff that burnishes the hotel's stature as a top-star hotel. Ned, the hotel's funny, thoughtful polymath-manager has a Ph.D. in comparative lit and is an author/editor of over 100 serious birding books/publications. Laura and Pam are vivacious and knowledgeable. We will return soon. Sigh. Not soon enough.

This is the best pet friendly hotel we have ever stayed in! What a great surprise! My husband was looking online for a pet friendly hotel to stay in on our way to Chincoteague Island, when he came upon this one. Where do I begin? The manager was so nice and friendly. Roxy, the house dog greeted my two dogs and was so gracious. The rooms were clean, simple and beautiful, the bed was so comfortable, even the soap and shampoo was special. The breakfast was healthy and the coffee was great. They did not even mind if you take the coffee cups out to the beach. I can't wait to go back!!! The little town was a real find as well.

Room Tip: The dog friendly rooms are in the courtyard on the main level. The second level has the balconies.

Greeted by friendly staff who provided great recommendations for sight seeing and dining. The room was what we expected from the web site pictures. The location was perfect, close to the beach and eateries. Located in the heart of Cape Charles. We enjoyed the stay in this quiet little town. Looking forward to a return visit.

We decided to take a vacation without an idea of where we wanted to go. After finding this hotel and reading a bit about Cape Charles we decided to stay there for a few days. While there is not a lot to do in Cape Charles, it was exactly what we needed - a relaxing quiet town. This little modern hotel is gorgeous and very clean, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was great too, with locally-made granola and Chobani yogurt (my favorite!) Best of all though the beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept on! While I can't say enough great things about this hotel, the only criticism I can think of is that the more expensive harbor view rooms do not have a water view as I expected (the only resemblance of a harbor I could see were the tops of a couple of sailboat masts sticking up over the trees/industrial area), so I would probably recommend one of the courtyard or garden rooms instead. We still enjoyed sitting out on the balcony looking out over the main street in town though.

The Hotel Cape Charles is a beautiful hotel sitting in the middle of nowhere. It was, without a doubt, the nicest thing about Cape Charles. Staff was excellent, friendly and accommodating. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean.

We stayed at the Hotel Cape Charles for a wedding this summer. We were concerned since we needed to bring our dog with us and he had never stayed in a hotel before. The rooms were perfect for a pet - large enough to get around, nothing for him to get into, great windows, easy access outside. The staff was wonderful and very friendly. The hotel is new, modern and very clean. I highly recommend, even if you don't bring your dog with you :)
