Enjoyed our stay in the Julia Wilkins Room quite a bit! It's a decently sized suite and suited our introverted needs quite well. Sometimes we skipped daily exploration of the area in favor of reading in bed, and that was exactly what we needed. Carol makes some tasty food, man, and there's a variety of meals prepared daily. Afterwards, a two-person jacuzzi soak is most delightful. Cape Charles itself has some lovely sights & shops, and this b&b was a perfect play to stay. Could've used a key to come & go as we placed 24/7, but that's a minor quibble - the presence of Mister Kitty is enough of a reason to visit!

Room Tip: Lower the curtains for a peaceful, cave-like experience - slept like a rock!

Pre-Christmas 2013 was the second time I had the pleasure to stay at Cape Charles House, and next year's stay is already booked! Bruce and Carol have mastered the art of making people feel welcome and pampered. The house is so beautiful, especially when it is decorated for the holidays. Only a few B&Bs have a wine and cheese in the evenings, and it it such a treat to sip wine and listen to music while enjoying good conversation. Furthermore, the breakfasts are both beautiful and mouthwatering! While I have not stayed in every B & B that exists, I am convinced that none better can be found!

Room Tip: Both the Alexander Cassatt and the Thomas Dixon rooms were lovely. Next time we will try the B.F. Ke...

We scheduled a stay as a mid-point stop on Christmas day on our way to North Carolina. When we contacted the owners and told of our arrival time they suggested they would prepare a meal as no restaurants would be open. We were greeted, escorted to our room and immediately invited for a Christmas Day champagne toast. We were then served a wonderful dinner of Chicken Marsala and delightful dessert. The next day we were treated like family, provided a gourmet breakfast and shared stories.

We default to staying at B&Bs when we can. We highly recommend the Cape Charles House B&B. You will not be dissappointed.

It was great place for my wife and I to get away for the weekend. The host were very helpful with things to do and breakfast was wonderful. It was a raining weekend however we found enough to do in the area. We made the trip to the local Winery and had very nice time.

A few girlfriends and I stayed at this bed and breakfast while in town for a wedding in Machipongo. We were warmly welcomed up our arrival and had a wonderful gourmet breakfast before departing the next morning. The Cape Charles House is very conveniently located and after the wedding, we were able to walk just a few blocks away to the downtown area to meet up with friends at the local pub. While we were only there for one night, this is a place where we will stay if we find ourselves in Cape Charles again! Many thanks to Bruce and Carol for their warmness and hospitality!

Even though our visit to Cape Charles was brief, it could not have been more enjoyable. Carol and Bruce welcomed us as family, suggested dining choices and activities, and prepared a wonderful breakfast. Both Bruce and Carol are passionately involved in the Cape Charles community, preserving its history and excited with its revitalization. You can tell they love their historic town and home. Thanks to them...we do too!

We had a wonderful weekend at the Cape Charles House, the very definition of a welcoming bed and breakfast base for your Eastern Shore experiences. Bruce and Carol immediately make you feel like family arriving at home, with wine in the evening, comfortable beds, and a gourmet breakfast every morning. We really enjoyed the adult atmosphere. They are so pleasant and knowledgeable, offering up just the amount of information you need, whether you're planning to read on the porch, take in the restaurants and bars, or take in the abundant outdoor recreation opportunities. We couldn't have asked for a better B&B and intend to return at our next opportunity.

Room Tip: We stayed in one of the less expensive rooms facing the back yard and found it quiet and comfortable...
