We are a family of four, who just stayed at Cape Charles Bed and Breakfast, and had a great experience. Carol and Bruce are very kind and their house in beautiful, homely and very well keept. In the afternoon wine and snacks are served at the porch and in the morning you get a super nice home cooked breakfast. The beach is just down the block. We do recommend this place!

What an amazing time we had at this wonderful B & B. So relaxing!!! Bruce and Carol were so sweet and wonderful hosts. We stayed for 2 nights mid-week before 4th of July. The entire inn was very peaceful, clean and inviting. We were served a wonderful gourmet breakfast each morning. Very accommodating to any need we had. The day of our arrival the USA World Cup game was on TV. Bruce was wonderful and let us view it in the living area (no other guests were there at the time otherwise we would not have done this). He also brought us the evening cheese and cracker platter and beverages. This is prepared each evening for the guests of each room to enjoy anywhere on the property they choose. There is many sitting areas inside and out. Upon our arrival Carol greeted us and gave us a tour of the inn and gave information about Cape Charles. This is a quite town with a few shops, restaurants and a nice beach. We went to the beach during our stay. Carol had beach chairs, towels, a umbrella and a small ice chest ready for us. This B & B is within walking distance of most things in the historic district including restaurants, beach and shops. The only thing that was strange to us was that we could not lock our room if we left the premises. There is a lock to use from the inside. This was our 1st trip to a B & B so we are not sure if this is normal. Not a problem just something to be aware of. Each room has an AC unit and a ceiling. We would highly recommend this B & B to anyone. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Julia Wilkins. Large, relaxing and clean. We loved the blue decor. It overlooks t...

The Cape Charles House is excellent. Four of us stayed in one room and Carol and Bruce were so gracious and kind. Every detail was perfect. The house is huge and very insulated and you have no idea there are any other guests until you show up for the scrumptious breakfast, or to pick up the wine and cheese plate in the afternoon. Carol accommodated our need for a gluten free breakfast, which was extremely filling and tasty. The large wrap around porch is great for people watching, coffee sipping, chatting, or just enjoying a little breeze on a lazy day. They also recommended some nearby restaurants and sights, and we felt like the whole town was welcoming to us and super friendly and kind. This will definitely be an annual trip and we will always be staying here on future visits (assuming we can snag a room!)

I'm not really one to remember details, so it would be impossible for me to write about the million little details that made our Cape Charles House stay so perfect.

We felt right at home when we arrived... well, except that our home is nowhere near as clean and we didn't have our mile-long to-do list in tow. Bruce & Carol greeted us with a warm, inviting smile and showed us to our room. They even gave us a complimentary upgrade, as Bruce assured me he could tell I would be his favorite that weekend. ;-) He probably says that to all the guests, but I certainly felt special.

We spent a lot of time exploring the town - we walked everywhere because everything was very close. We attended a wedding, so our time in the house was short on the first day. On the morning of our departure, we lounged on the gorgeous front porch, coffee-in-hand. Carol made muffins from scratch - I've never had a muffin so delicious in my life?! She is quite the chef. I'd like to go back just for breakfast.

Robert and I got engaged just a few days after our stay at Cape Charles House. We look forward to coming back for a small-town weekend together.

Room Tip: Whatever Bruce & Carol recommend: you can trust them. There isn't a bad room in the house. J...

Our second visit to the Cape Charles House Bed and Breakfast was just as pleasant as the first. The Julia Wilkins room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The flower beds were lovingly tended. The breakfasts were filling and delicious and often included fresh herbs from the herb garden. Bruce and Carol were the most gracious hosts and made us feel like family.
