Very friendly staff, even got a courtesy call an hour after check-in to make sure we liked the room and had everything we needed. Paid a fair price for the room, and the AAA discount made it even better. The room was well-kept and very comfortable, although not much in the way of a view. Perfect hotel for a business trip or a quick stay in the area.

I come to Charlottesville often as my father-in-law is a professor at UVA, and he typically arranges for us to stay at the Fairfield, which also is just OK, but a better OK than the Hampton. Don't get me wrong - the Hampton looks nice- the lobby is sleek and the computers for guest use are new, but no way is this the third best option in town. I really wanted to like this hotel, as I've been a Gold HHonors member for many years, but it was nothing special, and at the rate of about $150/night due to most hotels in town being sold out the weekend I was here, it borders on outrageous. The rooms, as mentioned, are small, and it was incredibly humid all night. The staff were fine, and the breakfast was standard issue, but it really was nothing special. The Doubletree and Omni are much nicer, and yes, I'd also pick the Fairfield over this Hampton.

We stayed here 2 nights over Easter with our 12 1/2 & 15 yr old kids while visiting Monticello. It was clean and the staff was nice and helpful, but the room was really small! We barely had enough room for all 4 of us and our luggage. The bathroom was very small too. Couldn't use the pool either because it was outdoors and not open yet. Probably wouldn't stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at the Hampton Inn Charlottesville for one night after touring Monticello. First of all, the staff are by far the FRIENDLIEST and most COURTEOUS I've ever encountered at ANY hotel - EVER! I know it has somewhat to do with "training," but it also has to do with these are just genuinely NICE people. Secondly, Location, Location, Location! This Hampton Inn has a grocery store, restaurant and movie theatre right across the street, so, it's just so convenient! We just parked our car, and ran over and grabbed some cold beverages and then later walked over to see a movie. In summary, the hotel is spotlessly clean, rooms are very comfortable, the staff are SUPER nice and helpful, and the breakfast buffet in the a.m. had a very large variety to please any taste. This hotel has my highest recommendation.

Stayed here en route from Washington to Norfolk. Having arrived on a late flight from the UK, we were keen to get to our rooms. When we opened the door to our room, only to find that it was a smokers room. Having requested a non-smoking room, we were a bit disappointed. We asked to be moved, however the hotel was full and that was not possible. The following morning we were able to be allocated a non-smoking room.
Breakfast was good and great that it was included in the price we paid.
The hotel is a little way out of town so you are without a car you are a liitle stuck. There is a hotel shuttle service which makes up for this.
The room lacked daylight and was rather dark, however it was clean and comfortable.
Would recommend for a short stay in Charlottesville.
