“Anniversary Dinner”
Reviewed 10 August 2014 via mobile

Reserved through Open Table, and we were greeted with "Happy Anniversary" by hostess and server, and a glass of champagne when we were seated. At that point, we knew it was the perfect spot. Nice menu, lots of choices. Delicious corn soup, and fresh tomato salad. My husband had the rack of lamb, I had the trout, and both were delicious. Saved room for dessert, Virginia Peach Crisp and Profiteroles. Our server, Simon, was very knowledgeable and the service was excellent.

“Great food in a great setting”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

I was here for a business related dinner. We ate in one of the private dining rooms, which felt just like we were in someone's house. The food was excellent, as was the service. There were so many good sounding things on the menu. I would love to come back again to try some of them.

“Worth the Expense”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

Unique menu, from local rainbow trout to bison; food perfectly presented; outstanding wine list; upscale foodie experience in small quantities; well trained waiters very attentive, but know when to stay away; exceptional desserts, unique as they are satisfying; mid-week not crowded, so a couple will find the privacy one rarely experiences these days, especially if eating outside on the patio. Indeed, we had the opportunity to speak with the chef! This is a high class bistro, the type found in Paris. Be prepared for a two-hour fine dining experience. We spent 75 dollars per hour.

“Wine dinner at IVY”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

Large group wine dinner at Ivy Inn was one great meal. The meal was well planned to accompany the wine. We were greeted with sparkling wine upon arrival. The food was excellent; the service, in spite of a large noisy group was very good.

A memorable evening

“Great Dinner!”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

My husband and I went to the Ivy Inn for our last night in Charlottesville. It was perfect. There was no seating inside, so we sat on the patio. I loved the patio. We ordered the crab and corn soup and squash soup, both were great. We also both ordered the trout, which I recommend. We were full afterwards so we got dessert to go and ate it in our hotel patio later on. I recommend going to the Ivy Inn if you want a romantic, delicious, and quiet meal. Other reviews commented on the price, but I felt the prices were fair. We got 2 beers, a glass of wine, soup, our entree and dessert and the bill was 97 dollars. Server was very nice as well. She knew when to come over and when to leave us alone. Will go again if we are in the area.
