We stopped here to grab a bite before going to Jefferson Vineyards and couldn't have been more pleased. Delicious food, nice assortment of foodie stuff to buy, and really friendly staff. This is the kind of place I would love to have close, but it would be dangerous! I would go there all the time!

After visiting Carter Mountain and Monticello, our group was ready for lunch. We visited the Salt Artisan and had a fantastic lunch. The cheese plate with the awesome nuts was perfect. Others in my group had the chicken salad and the sausage sandwich. The small dining quaint, the beautiful weather was beautiful and the tasteful food made for a great ending to a Charlottesville morning.

Visited this cute little place after touring Montecello, it's literally just down the road. Had read so many positive reviews and just had to go there. We both had their chicken salad baguette sandwiches with chips and iced tea. Very tasty! Their bakery items looked great but we're trying to stay away from that. Sounds simplistic, but the Route 11 potato chips which are made in Mount Jackson, VA were such a nice addition to the sandwich. Good iced tea. Some other reviews stated that you can't eat there but that's not accurate...you can't use the bathroom there because they're not listed as a restaurant by the county. They can seat about 7-8 people inside and out. They really specialize in cheeses and meats, are locally sourced as much as possible, and are doing a good job. The 2 young gals staffing today were very friendly. If you're in the area stop and help grow this local, 6-month old business.

This adorable cafe is a great addition to C-ville's wine country.

Delicious food and delightful service. Our family stopped at Salt with the munchies and were greeted with the true smell of fall -- apple-cinnamon spice. We grabbed a few treats and some of Salt's homemade goods. Will definitely be back!

My wife and I were passing through, and we stopped by on a whim. The sandwiches and cupcakes were great! The owners were really pleasant, and took the time to make sure our orders were just as we wanted. We will certainly return if we're in the area.
