This hotel has a sleek, modern look and feel, from the reception area to the rooms. The rooms are the new prototypical Hyatt Place rooms and include a sectional sleep sofa sitting area. The sitting area has a feel of being separate from the bed(s) although it is really just a glass partition wall that is only about 5 feet wide. The rooms also include a mini refrigerator. The bathroom door is a frosted glass flush mounted sliding door, which looks cool, saves space and is handicap friendly. The breakfast area was clean and well supplied with hot and cold breakfast items. Being adjacent to a newer, upscale open air mall with cinemas provides opportunities for shopping and various restaurant options. Note that this hotel is convenient to the major area highways, but it is not walkable to the downtown Charlottesville area or the University.

Excellent place to stay. this hotel is extremely clean, fresh and welcoming. Every staff member was exceptional. they all greeted guest and exceeded expectation for service. When in Charllottesville, this is the only place to stay. Large rooms, great amenities and a good morning breakfast.

My girlfriend and I were visiting the many superb wineries in the Charlottesville area during the Memorial Day weekend and found this gem of a hotel.

The first thing you notice as you drive up to the hotel is its modern look. A definite departure from all of the classic architectural styles that is abundant in this great city.

We checked in and were greeted by a smiling Richard at the front desk. He could not have been more welcoming or friendly. During our extensive travels few hotel employees have greeted us the way Richard did. (Bravo, Richard! Love your enthusiasm.)

The lobby is fresh, clean and has a sleek decor. Very nice.

Our room on the 6th floor overlooked the parking lot and the new upscale outdoor shopping center and cinema. I imagine the proximity to the mall will be/is a big draw for families who do not have to travel far to eat or find entertainment.

Our room had a king sized bed with a small living room area with couch and chair. Beautifully appointed.

The bathroom was something out of Architectural Digest. The bathroom was for the most part clean, however my girlfriend was, well, grossed out by the sight of hairs (not ours) in the shower. Not something you want to see minutes after checking in.

Another negative was the apparent thinness of the walls.
As we tried falling asleep we were kept awake by the guests in the room directly next to us. It wasn't as if they were jumping on the bed and partying with loud music. They were simply chatting, having conversation and laughing, but it sounded as if they were in our room.

The breakfast area was superb. The selection of food was typical, but delicious... Eggs, French Toast, oatmeal, juices and plenty of free-flowing coffee. The staff members working the breakfast area were friendly and greeted you with a smile and "Good Morning".

Aside from the unwelcome hairs and apparent lack of soundproofing we would definitely stay here again.

Hope this helps.

-Greg

Just stayed here overnight and I was thrilled to find this hotel. The location right off Hydraulic Road and Rte. 29 is very convenient, and it was a bonus after several hours of driving that I could just walk to dinner. The hotel is next to a brand new upscale shopping center w/ a movie theatre and several great dining options. It's not old school Charlottesville, but it's nice.

As far as the hotel itself, the front desk staff were super friendly and gave us a helpful map and recommendations. The room was nice, clean and comfortable and I love that the wifi was free. Free breakfast was yummy, with lots of healthy options. My one and only nitpick about this hotel would be the coffee. It just was not good. But if that's the only nitpick, then that's doing very well! The hotel is definitely new (it didn't exist during my last trip to Cville this past summer) and I suggest taking advantage of its rates and availability while they last!

We had a wonderful experience staying at this hotel- everything from making a reservation and checking out was great.

Location: convenient to UVA and Monticello. Situated in an upscale shopping center, the hotel is walking distance to a movie theater and trader joe's.

Room: modern and very clean. Unfortunately, we were next to the ice dispenser and elevator, which made for a noisy night and morning. The hotel was sold out so we couldn't move, but for future reference, NEVER get a room next to an ice dispenser because it makes a loud annoying sound. Being near the elevator means we heard everyone coming home after midnight and going to breakfast at 7.

Bathroom: very clean with fantastic water pressure. The only downside was the sliding glass door which didn't really lock.

Breakfast: bagels, toast, biscuits, sausage gravy, yogurt, fruit, cereal, scrambled eggs and different types of juices. It was crowded, and things kept running out, but was replenished right away. I was impressed that they kept bringing out more stuff at 9:50 even though breakfast ends at 10.

Service: everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful.

Highly recommend and would stay at again!

My wife and I with our small dog just finished a two night stay at this wonderful hotel. Our stay here was simply GREAT. The hotel was clean, modern, customer-focused, and had a wide variety of customer amenities to make our stay a happy one. I'm not sure how old the hotel is but it looked basically brand new to us.

The hotel employees were gracious, always asking if there was anything they could do for us, and made us feel welcome. The hotel manager was continually on-site meeting guests, overseeing operations, and appeared genuinely interested in the guest experience.

Our room was spotless, the free washer/dryer on our floor a real help, and the breakfast featuring hot dishes such as scrambled eggs, egg sandwiches, fruit, pancakes, and so forth was excellent.

The décor of our room was modern, roomy, and very functional including a very nice flat screen TV, microwave, and small refrigerator. Bathroom was excellent with glass sliding door for the shower.

The hotel is also in a great spot within Charlottesville, very close to University of Virginia. Also, across the street was a very nice outdoor shopping area with several good restaurants and nice shops.

In a nutshell, I am a very particular traveler and have nothing but great praise for this hotel. My wife and I highly recommend it. And one final comment, they were extremely nice to our dog, so they sure appeared very pet friendly.
