Fresh, delicious food, at reasonable prices, nicely prepared and served by attentive staff. One of our favorite restaurants. Good parking, not to big, the tuna is fabulous! They even have flatbread pizza for a lighter meal. Go there, you will not be disappointed!!

We dined here recently with friends and were thoroughly pleased. The restuarant was very pleasant especially considering that it started life as a garage. While the menu was not huge, there were plenty of choices which made deciding what to have a challenge.
The wine list was more than adequate with reasonable prices. The young lady who waited on us was one of the best servers we've encountered in ages. She was very knowledgable about both the menu and the wines and offered excellent service.
Our dining choices included fried oysters, a squid steak and sausage appetizer, an excellent pork belly main, a halibut wrapped in prosciutto and other options. Everything was nicely presented, well prepared and very tasty.
We look forward to returning.

Went to Threepenny for the 4th of July weekend of peach picking in Charlottesville. The food was really very well prepared. Ordered the calamari, yuca fries and 6 different flatbread pizzas.. Everything had a wonderful flavor and great consistency. The pizzas ranged from pizzas with serrano ham, italian vegetable , crab and brunch combo. Hands down some of the best pizza ever tasted.
The only downside was the restaurant took extremely long in serving us despite only a few parties present for late lunch . We found out later that the kitchen was short staffed due to the holiday weekend. At first, a little off put by how long it took and very little acknowledgment by the staff, however, by meal's end the staff was very apologetic and generously comped some of the entrees without us even asking. Truly a nice gesture of the restaurant winning back our desire to return in the future.

We had a wonderful dinner at the ThreePenny cafe. The speciality drinks were very refreshing. The mussels were unique and had a great sauce. The halibut had great flavor and was not dry at all. The restaurant was not too loud and service was just right. We would recommend this restaurant. Selection of food was unique. A great find.

My wife and I ate at the Threepenny (3P) Cafe during our stay in Charlottesville. We both got the halibut and it was not very good. I would go as far as to say "below average." The mussels were good though and the gumbo was pretty good which helped my rating somewhat. The waitress/hostess was very friendly.
