Stayed here one night on way to the Outerbanks. Had a large studio room - plenty of space for four people. Reasonably well appointed. Front desk and wait staff reasonably friendly but housekeeping seems to have slipped. Only three towels, the shower could have been cleaner. Had to request towels for the pool twice since the first time they brought only enough for the people there at the pool... and this was a Friday night...Decent gym though, overlooks the pool...

As far as the restaurant, everyone's tastes are different but we found the dinner to be ordinary at best. The waiter suggested the she crab soup and it was tasteless and insipid despite a generous amount of meat. Other entree's were unremarkable. The breakfast buffet the same except the made to order omelets.

It's a perfectly acceptable hotel, but last year we stayed at the ALoft (sold-out unfortunately this year) and liked that better.

The hotel was clean, but the staff was awful. After driving 8 hours for a drive that should only take a little over 4 hours, I checked into the hotel. I thought that I had booked a Park and Fly special through Marriott, but was told that I hadn't. The lady at the desk was rude about it and didn't even attempt to help correct it, even though the rate I was paying was the same as the Park and Fly rate. The only reason I selected this hotel to stay at was because of the special rate with the ability to drive to the beach and park at a sister hotel and use the amenities there.

Came for Norfolk Jazzfest. Hotel is great! Rooms clean, hotel clean, staff very friendly. Restaurant and bar great. We ate at restaurant 3 times. No need to go elsewhere to eat. Hotel 20 mins from downtown Norfolk. Shopping nearby. We have found our Norfolk hotel. Only issue is that the bed sheets are too small for the bed. They kept popping off and were difficult to put back on. Heather in restaurant and Delores in housekeeping made the trip memorable. HIGHLY RECCOMMEND THIS HOTEL. If ur a government employee, great government rates!

We stayed here 2 different times last month. The first time we had a usual room, King witha chair. The lack of signs made it difficult to find the morning buffet.
The second time we had a King room with a sofa.
The second time there was a Pennsylvania Bikers convention of four hundred. We never heard them in the halls but we could see them everywhere. The hotel was very quiet!
We are Marriott Gold members -the first time we whre given a coupon for only one Stabucks coffee. (We are not really coffee drinkers). The second tome the front desk asked if we were coffee drinkers...I replied "just a little" we were offered 1/2 off the breakfast buffet or a starbucks coffee for each of us...different front desk person.

Room Tip: Yes there is a breakfast buffet...do ask where to find the restaurant.

We are the Directors for the 24th VASARDA/VASCA State Convention (Square Dancing) that was held at this facility May 10 – 12, 2012 and the entire staff made our Convention a huge success. James Doty, Exec. Meeting Manager, along with Mitchell and the entire staff met all our needs during the weekend. James Doty and Mitchell went above and beyond the call of duty for us. The smiling faces of the staff spoke volumes and let us all know that we were very welcomed indeed. We had over 400 attendees that were very happy with their accommendations at the hotel and we can highly recommend this hotel for events/conventions/etc. along with every day travelers.
