It looks cute, there is a lovely screened in porch in this charming old building. The icecream is poor, but they do offer one interesting item a sunday with fresh peaches. However, the icecream experience is not worth the price and the people who run it are rude and self important. Your first indication of their poor spirited nastyness is the way they cordon off their gravel parking lot from the volunteer fire department even when closed in the off season. They are just pointlessly rude. The place looks good, but its as cold as the ice cream and they talk about the tourists in a way - that is NOT typical of the locals. Tourists are welcome and indulged on Chincoteague, but not here. The last time I went there (persuaded by friends who did not know better) they were snapping at little children who were well - being children in an ice cream parlor. A little rambunctious, but they had attentive parents and were not disturbing. I don't know if it is thepoor service or lack of courtesy, but I can't enjoy a bite from there. Chincoteague is an ice cream paradise. So go to the Island Creamery or to Mr. Whippy's and have a good experience.
