“Great Pet Friendly Home”
Reviewed 24 October 2016 for a stay in October 2016

My husband and I had the opportunity to stay at this home for a few days to attend the oyster festival. It is a very sweet and well maintained older home on a quiet lane. The screened in porch was wonderful and the backyard was great for our dog. The owners have loved this house for decades and it shows. It is decorated with a nice mix of older furnishings, and it is very comfortable.

Minor negatives: The bathrooms are small but manageable. We preferred the outdoor shower, anyway. The upstairs bathroom is located is located within a bedroom, so it's not ideal for sharing with others, but we weren't with anyone else. It is still very doable with children or friends that don't mind if you walk through. Older homes sometimes have their quirks. Also, I would like it better if the TV was in the living room with the comfy couch. It is in a well equipped library with less comfy loveseat and chair.

All in all, I liked this house as it felt very homey and it was conveniently located.

Cozy, old and comfortable shore farmhouse. It's near the fairground, and Pony Penning, as well as Rocket launch ....but all home. Best.

“Nice House but Renter's Should Be Aware of a Few Things”

This is a nice house but renter's should be told about a few things. If you are expecting clean, it is just a "neat" clean not clean. It is an older home that smells musty which is expected. The location is good but be aware that the above picture of the house is from the back of the house not the front (not great for a front porch lover). The house is located midway down a dead-end gravel road. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. There were lots of games and books for an old-fashioned, internet-free vacation. The house had everything from every spice you might want to laundry detergent and toilet paper. The second floor was a bit of an issue for my 70 yr old parents. The stairs to the second floor are extremely steep and there are no railings to hold on to. They ended up having to sleep in the living room on a blow up mattress that they brought with them and the sofa (which, unfortunately, is not a sofa-bed). Two bedrooms are connected to each other which doesn't leave much privacy and the bathroom, off one of the rooms, is the tiniest bathroom you could ever imagine. I am 5'10 and you could just barely sit on the toilet without your knees hitting into the wall. Same with the shower, you could barely move in it. The fan in the same bathroom is soooo loud when you turn on the light, you may want to use a flashlight in the middle of the night so you don't wake up everyone. The first floor bathroom is better but the shower stall would not fit a large-size person. There is always the outdoor shower but even that is tight and we weren't a large-size family just tall. Oh, and be aware that as the do allow dogs... there is dog hair on most of the rugs.
