We went to the Channel Bass Inn right after our wedding. It was a little get away for the week to de-stress. David and Barbara were amazing. They made us feel right at home. Everything we needed for the beach, or anything for that matter, they made sure we had. Not to mention, the breakfasts were so amazing. The mexi eggs were a favorite but everything was to die for. We didn’t get to do the tea time, but we heard from other guests it was equally great and left you full for hours! We will definitely try that when we return, which we definitely will!

From the delicious afternoon tea to the fantastic breakfast each morning, our stay at the Channel Bass Inn was an exquisite treat. Barbara and David are skilled and gracious hosts. The English flair and detail around the meals was unique in our experience. Although we made a last minute reservation and could only get the smallest room in the house, our accommodations were very comfortable and more than adequate for our needs. The location is very convenient for walking to local shopping and restaurants, and a short drive out to the wildlife preserve on Assateague, Is. This B&B is not to be missed. We will come again.

David and Barbara were very gracious hosts. We enjoyed our stay and would recommed to anyone one visiting Chincoteague. Breakfasts were very good and our king bed with the new matress was like sleeping on a cloud. The property was very well kept and the garden was the perfect place for cocktails after a day of sightseeing.

Barbara and David are such great hosts that you'll feel right at home here. They'll take care of you and get you dinner reservations, set up boat tours, etc. They have a fully stocked room with beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, magazines, and anything else you can think of, and bikes to borrow as well. The rooms are cozy and comfortable (we stayed in the Wharfedale) and very quiet, even when the house is full with no vacancy. Breakfasts were legendary multi-course affairs and so delicious. We went to Barbara's tea on Saturday and were so full afterwards that we even ended up skipping dinner! In fact, our one complaint (joking, of course) is that we were fed too well at the Channel Bass Inn and didn't get to enjoy as much Chincoteague seafood as we would have liked. Guess we'll just have to go back again soon.

From the moment you walk in, you are greeted so warmly by Barbara and it is clear she will do whatever she can to make you comfortable, whether it's schlepping a heavy suitcase up 2 flights of stairs (or having her husband, David, do it!) or making dinner reservations and making sure you get the best seat in the house. David makes the exquisite breakfasts, whether it's beautifully spiced scrambled eggs or a crab quiche, along with 2 kinds of breads or muffins and fruit with other goodies. If you need decaf coffee or tea rather than regular coffee, they will freshly brew you your own separate pot, and their staff make sure that you never have to ask for refills. They create an environment where it is easy to sit and relax at breakfast and get to know some of the other guests at the Inn. I don't know how many languages Barbara knows, but she chatted fluently with a Dutch couple that was there. She has the ability to find something in common with everyone and make a bond around it so that you feel welcome and appreciated. They have bikes and beach towels to borrow, which we greatly appreciated. The garden is lush, and while we were there, a mother duck sat vigilantly on her nest of eggs right next to the steps to the front door. A bowl of fresh water was always available to her, and clearly she felt welcome and comfortable to make her home there.

Room Tip: We were in the Scarborough, a lovely cozy room on the 3rd fl, but the bathroom overlooks a gas stati...

I had never stayed at a B&B before and this one will be a hard act to follow!! Both of the innkeepers were personable and very attune to us being number 1 and the whole experience being about us. The accommodations were first rate. The entire property was lovingly cared for and it showed. The food was prepared fresh and served at the proper temperature. The innkeepers made sure that every incidental was provided or available. They had bicycles with locks and cables, beach chairs, beach towels, coolers and almost anything else someone as a guest could want or need. During breakfast, each group was asked about dinner reservations and then they were made for us at that time. The best tables were reserved for their guests at all of the best restaurants. We were there during Pony Penning Week when the entire island was booked solid but thanks to our innkeepers, there was never a worry. And let's not forget the Tea that is served on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We only attended on Thursday and realized what a mistake we made in not going on Tuesday. The food was wonderful and the scones that they are famous for certainly did not disappoint!! We stayed 5 nights and met more return guests than I have ever met, much less seen at any hotel anywhere. The amount of return business for this inn speaks volumes. If anyone has a bad time at Channel Bass Inn, it's their own fault, not that of the innkeepers!!

Room Tip: Book early before the rush starts-there are photos of each room on line

We had a great experience at the Channel Bass Inn! Barbara and David are very nice and are always willing to help you out with all of your needs. The house was beautiful and the location is right off of main street. Lastly, the breakfast was amazing! The homemade baked goods and "world famous eggs" were incredible. We stayed three days and never had to eat lunch because we were so stuffed from breakfast. I would definitely recommend this place.
