Our trip to the Channel Bass Inn was just outstanding. I was surprised with this as an engagement trip and the Inn was just another perfect aspect of our experience. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and friendly. We were able to bring our dogs and they were treated like family as well. Barbara and David are a joy and made us feel so special and welcome while we were there. I could go on and on about the room, the garden, the people, the location and everything else regarding this B&B. Simply put, this was the perfect place for us to start our lives together.

We were thrilled we had a place to bring our 9.5 lb dog vice having to put her in a kennel.
The day we checked in we did the afternoon tea. It was great, but be prepared to eat, Separate fee for tea, worth doing once. If you just go with the flow, they will take you through it, and you can talk to other guests at the B&B and even a few others from other places on the island. The B&B was right within walking to the main areas, stores, and Bill's restaurant and a couple others. Everything was clean and kept up. Sitting room and place to sit next to heating stove. Breakfasts were great both days. Wife says breakfast was phenomenal, not just great. We didn't even need lunch (but we don't eat as much as others). Helped us with our bags coming and going. Parking out back. They even had treats for our dog Bella from the local dog store. Thanks Barbara and David for making us feel welcome and at home.

Room Tip: Our room had a neat little sitting area on the 3rd floor. You could even make a little view of the...

We chose to stay at the channel bass inn based on great reviews and were not disappointed. Arriving at the inn on a cold and rainy night, we were greeted by a warm fire and cheery conversation with. Without asking for it, we were upgraded to larger room, and Barbara made reservations for us at a nearby restaurant. The room (on the top floor) was beautifully decorated with a comfortable bed. Loved all the books lying around for us to use, and the views of the water.
We were equally happy with breakfast. David and Barbara for breakfast on our first morning, and we loved chatting with them about their family, the inn's history, and things to do around town. Upon hearing that I was going to be hosting a bridal shower in the coming months, Barbara even took me to her kitchen to sample some of her delicious cake, offering to share the recipe with me!

The food was delicious and presented beautifully! We loved the homemade fruit yogurt with granola, Mexican eggs, homemade breads, French press coffee and wonderful teas. We only wish we could have experienced Barbara's afternoon tea! Barbara and David, thank you so much for making us feel like family. This was our first bed and breakfast experience and set the bar very high for us. We will be back!

We discovered this lovely retreat at the last minute and could not been more delighted to find it. We, and our dog Gracie, were given a lovely tour of the property by Barbara and David, (and our choice of three rooms), and felt immediately at home. They are exceptionally warm and welcoming and go above and beyond at every turn. From a call ahead to Woody's BBQ to connect my husband with the fellow drummer/owner to a pre-dinner drink to wonderful conversation at the breakfast table and travel and music talk with our expert hosts. We are already planning our return and feel we have gained life-long friends.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back side overlook garden.

My wife and I needed a relaxing getaway and her birthday provided the perfect opportunity. I surprised her with reservations at the Channel Bass Inn.
Barbara and David are wonderful hosts, who made us feel like we were staying with family.
Barbara made dinner reservations and a sunset boat tour at our behest and both were magnificent.
We left refreshed and reinvigorated, we are definitely planning a return stay and highly recommend the Channel Bass to anyone looking to take a break and unwind.

Room Tip: We stayed in the TopCliff, which has a king size bed and is on the top floor at the rear of the B&am...

The Channel Bass is a very pretty B&B, located in the heart of Chincoteague. It's immaculate, beautifully (if eclectically) furnished and quiet. Our hosts, Barbara and David, felt like friends by the end of our too-short weekend stay. (Barbara stuffed a couple of her amazing homemade scones in my purse as we were leaving, so we would have something for the trip home.) But very possibly the best part of staying at the Channel Bass are the breakfasts, which are delicious and large enough that you may want to skip lunch. Barbara also offers afternoon tea, which we missed but our fellow guests pronounced excellent. Both breakfast and tea are served family style, so if you don't like the idea of interacting with other guests, the Channel Bass may not be for you. My husband and really enjoyed the other people staying there and thought the family-style seating a bonus.

Room Tip: My husband and I stayed in The Room With No Name (that is its name, actually). It's the newest r...

John and I just returned from a weekend at Channel Bass Inn, and we highly recommend it. Barbara is the epitome of a gracious hostess, and her cooking was such a treat, especially her scones. She and David made us feel so welcome, and she even sent us home with extra scones. They made dinner reservations for us at 2 wonderful restaurants, and even requested a surprise cake for John's birthday. Their recommendations made for a perfect getaway, and we can't wait to return.
