“Best Restaurant on the Island”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

Having been a patron of Bill's for many years, it has been and is still the absolute best restaurant on the island. Service is perfect and the food is wonderfully delicious!

“Quaint location - Good food, good service”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

This restaurant was conveniently located basically across the street from our hotel and was recommended by the hotel staff. The food was very good(especially the seafood) and the service was good. The restaurant itself was a little small and was packed because it was the 4th of July weekend but was still enjoyable. It also was a beautiful night and the town and area is so beautiful it would be nice if they had outdoor seating. The prices were a little steep but there are only a few options that were recommended and we even considered going back a second night because it was convenient, the food was very good and we had a positive overall experience.

“Not too bad overall ... but ...”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

We had reservations and actually got to Bill's 10 minutes early but they were holding three tables for a large party so we stood at the front of the restaurant for 30 minutes with a lot of other people waiting to be seated. I felt sorry for the people who were trying to eat with several couples hovering so close by.

Our server was excellent and the food was overall good but our blackened grouper wasn't really blackened as anyone who has eaten real blackened fish could attest. Blackened fish is highly spiced, and charred black in a hot iron skillet, and gets its name from the blackened crust created in the process. This fish was spiced, and I believe it was broiled though it could have been pan sauteed, but it was as far from blackened as we were far from Cajun country. The real clincher was the fish itself. I am an above average cook and I serve my family grouper several times a month. My husband was raised in Miami and his favorite hobby is fishing. Neither one of us recognized the fish that we were served as grouper. Maybe it is a regional name or something, but the fish we were served is nothing like the grouper he has caught and I have bought and cooked. It was strangely similar to flounder, a dry, thin fish that neither my husband or I care for.

The salad was good and the service was good but the main course just didn't measure up. I realize we are picky, but good restaurants are picky too. If you too are picky, especially about fish, there are other, much better restaurant choices for you on Chincoteague Island.

“Fabulous Flounder”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

This restaurant had the best food we ate on the Island. We had clam chowder (very good), broiled flounder and salmon entrees. The service was outstanding (Shawn is a delight and very attentive), the food excellent. Not cheap, but worth it. Make reservations!

“The Best on Chincateague Island”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

This is widely regarded as the best restaurant on Chincoteague Island, and we ate there twice in our four day stay. The seafood is varied and good and the staff is very friendly.
