We stayed at the Firmstone Manor during the first week in November and were quite happy with the overall experience. Barbara and Charlie have worked hard to bring this 1873 Victorian mansion up to todays standards and have been very sucessful with that effort we thought. The room are wonderfully decorated in the style of the era along with the public spaces - a real treat to a fan of that architectual period. Excellent collection of dvd's to view in the upper library! Breakfast was delightful and prepared with suggestions Charlie had asked us for the previous evening. We're birders and mountain bikers and were delighted with the offerings in the neighborhood.
They love their three little doggies who will great you when you arrive - if you're not a dog fan that might turn you off. But the dogs are not allowed the run of the public parts of the house.
We thought it an excellent value and experience. We'd definitely stay there again.
