“Great Beer and Good Brewery Tour”
Reviewed 21 November 2011

My husband and a friend love starr hill beer, so the wives came along to check out the brewery and take a tour. The "tasting room" is right inside the factory where they brew and bottle the beer. We tasted six beers on tap...all very good...then took a 15-20 minute tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the beer making process and answered questions easily. We got to taste the different barley and smell the hops they put in their beer. The pourers for the tasting were fun and also answered any questions we had. The brewery has growlers that you can pay for and fill up for as little as $7.50...a good price for a 64oz. fill up! The brewery also offers merchandise and gifts. Overall, it was a great experience and I'm glad we dropped by.

“Make the stop if in the Valley”
Reviewed 25 August 2010

We stopped here after taking a drive on Skyline Drive (It's only a few miles off one of the entrances/exits). The brewery is in a typical industrial area. The atmosphere is is pretty lively with locals coming in to get their growlers filled and visitors sampling and touring. Starr Hill's beers of of top quality and the staff I met and talked to were on top of their beer game. Starr Hill merchandise as well as bottled beer is available for purchase while your are visiting.

“Good beer, and good people”
Reviewed 11 January 2010

Stopped in Starr Hill during a beer-n-wine tour this weekend. Dave, at the tasting bar, was as knowledgeable about beer as anybody I've ever talked with. And he was quite friendly, and willing to go out of his way to help with our tasting.

They normally have brewery tours at the top of every hour on Saturdays. We got there at maybe 11:15, and we would have had to wait around for a while if we wanted the tour. We figured that it would be too long of a wait, but then Dave told us that since it was just our group of 5 there, they would give us an abbreviated version of the tour right away. Pretty cool.

The beers were excellent, and we had a great time tasting the beer and chatting with the staff at Starr Hill.

“Informative Tour & Delicious Free Tastings”
Reviewed 6 March 2009

A good alternative to wine tasting, the Starr Hill Brewery staff did a great job welcoming us to their home grown business. The tour guide was extremely informative, I had no idea so much went into brewing. You go through the real working brewery on the tour. We even had a chance to taste actually barleys they use and smell the hops. (You could eat the hops too, but you are warned how bitter they are.) After the tour you can do a free tasting of 5 of their brews. There are shirts, glasses and other "stuff" to buy, in addition to cases of beer at great prices. Thanks Starr Hill!
