My family and I had a great getaway at The Inn at Sugar Hollow Farm. We wanted a cozy place to relax and visit - and we got it. The Inn is well-designed to accommodate visitors, the rooms are large and very clean, all with well-appointed bathrooms - even robes! I noticed a meticulous attention to the smallest details. Our hosts, Dick and Hayden Cabell were friendly and helpful and they sure served up some amazing breakfasts. The Inn is situated on 70 relaxing acres of property and I am sure that any time of the year would be wonderful. Another great feature of the Inn is the space available to guests beyond the rooms themselves: at least four sitting living rooms in the main house. I would highly recommend this Inn and plan to return again!

Room Tip: Pick the room which is decorated to your taste!

When our friends suggested the Inn at Sugar Hollow Farm for our 4-day decompression & get-together, we were concerned that it might be too far from Charlottesville. Not a worry at all. the Inn is nestled in a very quiet little river valley and provides a great base for hiking, touring, and relaxing. It's an easy drive to Monticello, Charlottesville and the Shenandoah National Park. The nearby town of Crozet has a number of dining options that eliminated the longer drive to Charlottesville for nice dinners. If you want a quiet, serene, lovely place to hang out, Sugar Hollow is great.

As other reviews state, Hayden and Dick are perfect inn-keepers and can help you make your daily activities choices. We were able to drive just a few miles to the end of Sugar Hollow Road and hike up to the Skyline Drive in the National Park. For another hike, a 30 minute drive got us to a trail-head on Skyline Drive.

Our second-floor room (adjacent to the roof-top deck) was comfortable with its king-sized bed, night tables with lamps, and a side chair. The closet contained a small dresser and enough hangers so we could unpack our bags for the 4-day stay. The bathroom had a shower, sink, amenities, hair dryer, and bath robes (a real plus with my wife).

There is a second floor common room that was great for late afternoon reading or a glass of wine. The two larger common rooms on the first floor are situated to provide options for morning or afternoon light and have a good selection of reading material. We made use of the larger fireplace room for a light supper of wine, cheese, sausage, and bread. The Inn has a nice selection of glassware (beer, wine, champagne) to better enjoy our beverages. A small refrigerator on each floor has complimentary soda and nicely chills your beverages and/or leftovers. There is also a TV/media room on the first floor on the front left side of the inn.

We had a great stay and would recommend the Inn at Sugar Hollow farm to our friends.

Room Tip: The second floor room adjacent to the rooftop patio might be less desirable in warmer, sunny weather...

If there is an inventory of everything a B&B should contain.....The Inn at Sugar Hollow Farm has it all. Most B&B's are large homes converted for guest accommodations. Not this one. It was designed and built as a B&B and the results are outstanding. Large rooms, private baths, big windows --- the works. Next comes the "little extras". There is little - if anything - missing. Robes, slippers, tea/coffee toiletries (including those things we may forget). What's an inn without great innkeepers? Dick and Hayden Cabell met every expectation: there when you need them...and quiet when you don't. Informative and entertiaining --- they enjoy their second careers. Breakfasts were top notch and plenty to go around.
We had a wonderful experience all around; however, don't be fooled into thinking you are in Charlottesville. It seems like quite a trip to Monticello, etc. Just be aware of the distance. The good news is you are in Cozet (cos-aye). What a fun place with interesting vineyards and eaterys. We are looking forward to returning soon!

If you're looking for a Bed and Breakfast experience The Inn at Sugar Hollow is a superb choice. Absolutely inviting and relaxing. The rooms were quiet and clean; they were fully booked but we had no idea until our first breakfast when everyone came out of the woodwork to dine on their delicious breakfast. We stayed in the Wildflower Room and highly recommend it. We have stayed at other B&B's that hit you with rules and off limits areas but not Sugar Hollow. Totally inviting and welcoming. Its the perfect distance from Crozet, VA nestled back in a valley. We hiked up to the lake during the day and then shot in to Charlottesville for dinner. The next day we took it easy, and watched the deer in the front yard. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. B&Bs can be a real shot in the dark sometimes, a real gamble, but Sugar Hollow nailed it and we were delighted with our stay. Can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: The Wildflower Room is huge, has a panoramic view looking North at the far side ridge. Watching the...

The Inn at Sugar Hollow Farm was great! It was super cute, breakfast was excellent (great job Tim!) and the views were amazing. I would definitely recommend. They were very helpful--providing recommendations for hiking, wineries and dinner. Plus we got to see their "pet" deer in the fields. Wonderful.

Hands down Hayden, Dick and their son Tim have created one of the loveliest bed and breakfasts on the East Coast. I'll confess that I tend to be a snob about accommodations and really prefer to stay in 4-5 star abodes. Needless to say, The Inn at Sugar Hollow Farm did not disappoint. We stayed in the Wildflower Room with a beautiful view of the autumn colored mountains. The room and bathroom were beautifully decorated but more importantly...they were immaculate. I thoroughly enjoyed a luxury bath in the two-person Jacuzzi bathtub (avec 90 degree two-headed shower heads overhead) and one of my favorite things about the B&B was the rooftop deck. Both nights we sat outside for an hour soaking in the peaceful night sounds, exquisite full moon and brilliant stars. We took mugs of tea and a blanket from the room and sat there in absolute wonderment of this blessed place. In terms of convenience, Hayden and her husband thought of everything -- in the bathrooms were containers of cotton balls, Q Tips, facial/make-up wipes, a hairdryer, bubble bath, shampoo, soaps, antibacterial wash, a pillow for the Jacuzzi bathtub, extra plush towels, clean/ironed robes, slippers, tissue lined trash cans (love how "green" that is!), a stool to help with getting in/out of the tub, etc. In the common area on the 2nd floor we had access to free icy cold soda, refrigerator space for anything we needed to keep cold, microwave popcorn, microwave, clean coffee mugs, teas, steaming hot water, coffee, a basket of toothbrushes and toothpaste, etc. I'm sure I'm forgetting about the majority of delightful things they provided for us. At every turn I kept saying out loud "They thought of everything." I have stayed in B&B's all over New England, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, California, etc. The Inn at Sugar Hollow Farm was one of the nicest B&B's by far. The breakfasts were on time, hot, wonderfully prepared/seasoned and presented. Hayden, Dick and Tim constantly came around refilling coffee, hot water, etc. And if the STUNNING atmosphere and accommodations were not enough, I have to say that I loved the owners. They took all the time in the world to answer our questions and to provide us with any/all information that we could possibly need. You would have thought that we were the first customers to ever stay in their B&B. They've been doing this for 19 years!!! I was dumbfounded at how gracious and generous they were with their time and energy. I cannot say enough great things about this B&B. It's tucked away in one of the most stunning and breathtaking areas that I've ever seen. If I didn't know any better I would have thought that I were in Vermont. The atmosphere and accommodations were exquisite and Hayden, Dick and Tim were equally as lovely. Thank you for making our time away so amazing....

Room Tip: We stayed in the Wildflower room on the back of the inn. There was a lot of privacy and the view wa...
