“The Best of the Best.”

All we can do is heap positives on the positives entered before.
Our stay was just perfect. The Inn is graceful, clean, and picturesque. It was built for the purpose but sits on its hill like it's always been there.

Secluded pastures below mountains, spring streams, dogwood and red bud. You'd never guess you.re a stone's throw from Charlottesville. The area is unspoiled, unpretentious and charming. We loved eating a great breakfast, then visiting wineries, shopping in Charlottesville, seeing Montecello, and ending with delectable soft shell crab dinner in Crozet,

We especially enjoyed our hosts Dick and Hayden and their son Tim. Thank you for creating this wonderful Inn.

Room Tip: Some of the Inn Rooms are smaller but still very comfortable. The Honeymoon Suite is gorgeous. The...

The location of the Inn at Sugar Hollow Farm is ideal. While near towns and hiking trails, its actual spot is quiet. Deer roam the extensive land around the buildings; butterflies seem undaunted by humans; and all manner of birds sing in the lush trees. The Inn is tastefully and consistently decorated, with a lot of attention to detail. The hosts and their helpers are keen to assist, and somehow balance their love of chatting to guests with the considerable work it must take to run a nice establishment like this. The breakfasts were delicious, with an imaginative range of baked goods and egg dishes. The only small thing to keep in mind is that breakfast is only served at 9:00 am--for an early riser this is a bit late, even though coffee was available much sooner. Still, for a few days of decompression from city life, this is an ideal place.

After driving down Skyline Drive and admiring the Shenandoah Valley views, we dropped down to the east and drove down route 810 to get to Sugar Hollow. It was one of the prettiest drives we'd ever seen, with beautiful farms, rolling hills, lovely, clean estates and dogwoods, redbuds and tulips blooming everywhere. Arriving at the Inn at Sugar Hollow Farm we found more lovely scenery and a lovely home, built especially to accommodate us. The hosts were very nice and their breakfast was delicious. They had great area recommendations and everything we could need. It was a very pleasant getaway!

Room Tip: Try to get the Wildflower room - it was beautiful!

Some people will say the views are the best things about the stay at Sugar Hollow.

Some will say the location - with its proximity to the parks and wineries make it the best.

Others will claim that the owners - Dick and Hayden - make the whole place charming and clean and organized.

Many will claim the drive to the Inn - from Charlottesville - is the surprise treat about the Inn.

And of course there will be many visitors who boast that the breakfasts served is the ultimate reason to stay there.

we are not sure -- all of the above are true - and we are probably missing a few other reasons. at any rate - do the drive from CHO - and you will be glad you did.

I can't tell you in words as to how much I enjoyed my stay here. Dick & Hayden puts the meaning in hospitality. As I was the only one at the B&B, they were kind enough to upgrade my room, at no extra cost. Thank you so much. I was greeted from the front porch, by Dick, then Hayden took over and gave me the grand tour of the B&B. Everything was perfect. My room, was beautiful, and I slept like a baby, in a very comfortable king size bed. My coffee was waiting for me in the service hall, then a delicious breakfast was next. This B&B is ideal for a person who is visiting all the Virginia wineries in the area, and there a lot of them. Again thank you so much for the hospitality.

By far, the best B&B we have ever stayed out. From the moment we made our reservation to the day we checked out, we felt like guests inside of customers. The innkeepers, Hayden and Dick, were accommodating and friendly. Their son, Scott, is a wonderful chef, and even the, Patty, housekeeper, was pleasant and helpful. Our room was in the farm house and we were comfortable and cozy, and our room was very clean. Everything you need is at your service. We had terrible weather most of the weekend, but the front porch was still inviting. We loved the remoteness of the location and the terrific views from the main house. Though off the beaten path, Crozet is not far away with some great chef-owned dining. Blue Ridge Mtns. and Skyline Drive is close as well. Love this place!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Farm House. It's an 1800's house with the best creaky floors! Main house...

Having grown up in a B&B myself [my mother and grandmother ran one that we lived in] I have always enjoyed the unique and intimate setting that an inn can offer. My fiance on the other hand had only been to an inn once before for a wedding where he claims "the grandmother [owner] was walking around in her nightgown telling us all to be quiet". Since, he has had a terrible idea of what it would be like to stay in one again. FINALLY, I convinced him that this place would not disappoint. And it sure didn't! The drive is a nice windy road just outside of downtown Charlottesville and you pass a few wineries on the way out of town too. We stayed in the Wildflower room in the main house which had a gorgeous bay window view of the front lawn where deer were grazing at dawn and dusk. It has a comfortable king size bed with a wood burning fireplace in the bedroom and a large jetted tub for two in the bathroom. This is my idea of perfection! We visited local wineries and the brewery as we always do when we come to the area. In the evening on Sunday, my fiance insisted on watching his 49ers game and (thank goodness) they had DirecTV in one of the living rooms. We quietly sipped a bottle of wine we purchased and watched the game. The breakfasts are a real, homemade delight! You won't go wrong with ANYTHING that they make. I can't say how badly I want to get back here ASAP. There is literally not a single complain so please people - go experience this for yourself!
