Owner description: King Family Vineyards is a family owned and operated winery located at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Crozet, Virginia just fifteen minutes from Charlottesville. The winery specializes in the production of ultra-premium wines that showcase the remarkable quality and terroir of the Monticello AVA. Beginning with carefully selected estate grapes, winemaker Matthieu Finot creates wines inspired by the old world, but are uniquely expressive of Virginia. Our passion is the customer, our craft is the wine. "When you visit our winery, you are coming to our home. We hope that you enjoy the fruits of our labor as much as we enjoy sharing them with you." -The King Family

This was a beautiful, serene winery. Large, comfortable tasting room; plenty of outdoor tables and sitting areas for you to enjoy your own picnic lunch. Polo matches some weekends, which sounds like a reason to come back!

.....knowledgable and friendly server for the flight tasting. We visited on a rainy weekday so not crowded. Polo played weekends in season.

We were not impressed with King Family Vineyards. First off, it was crowded and noisy. We could hardly hear our server who was very inattentive due a limo full of people who arrived just prior to us. We waited and waited, and then once we got started, she disappeared and we stood there waiting for someone to remember we were still there. Finally, another staff member helped out. Staff....remember....we are paying to taste your wines.....you are not providing a free service. Have some respect for your paying customers.

The place isn't big enough for everyone to taste. Have more staff available on the weekends! We paid $7 to taste five wines, which is more expensive than other area wineries charge. The wines were ok, nothing that I thought stood out!

The setting is pretty along with the outdoor seating and polo field, but I think they just aren't designed for the amount of people who wine taste in the area. The paved driveway is narrow and doesn't accommodate in/out traffic without someone going on to the berm. Again......were they not anticipating customers? Gravel parking.....so the driveway and parking are not so great on a rainy Saturday!

Also, in general, I think wineries should have a separate tasting area or separate counter for large groups/limo groups. The noise level rises with large groups and the service level goes down. Not in the best interest of your other customers.

I'm not sure I would go back.

We visited King Family Wineyards during our trip to the area.
They have a very friendly wine tasting set up . Actually , a young man with the King surname offered us the wine tasting varieties . He was very friendly and knowledgeable . We tasted 5 varieties of their wine, which were all good and we bought 6 bottles eventually . They have a very good set up whereby you can eat cheese and bread with your wine tasting . If you like wine and if you are in the visinity, you should visit this winery, run by the King Family, with a very friendly hands-on management.
