“Perfect for our reunion”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

My friend and I spent two nights in this lovely B & B. We were meeting to rekindle our friendship after losing touch with one another for about 40 years. This was the perfect setting. We stayed in the Lightfoot and Hill room; it's the only room with 2 beds. The house is decorated with many antiques and provides books and DVD's for entertainment. We were welcome to use any of the common rooms two of which have large tables with chairs. Breakfast was a treat for the eyes as well as the palate. The homemade croissants were the delicious. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you Steve and Kathi.

We spent one night at Fountain Hall B&B. The room (Victoria suite) was lovely--the bed was gorgeous and comfortable, as was the entire public area of the inn. Our room was spacious and although the bathroom was small, it was very well laid out. Lovely hosts and nice breakfast. Appreciated that they made arrangements for us to come in very late.

My husband I stayed there for our 27th anniversary. We stayed in the butlers suite. The bed was very comfortable. We had our own entrance and back porch. Great location, 1 block to downtown. Wish the room had a TV though, we like to watch the news and weather. Owners were VERY nice, and knowledgeable about the area. Cream cheese and strawberry croissants were outstanding!!! We will stay there again someday!

This 1800's mansion near the downtown shopping area of Culpepper has much to offer. Great hosts (a lovely family), delightful and beautiful breakfasts. Many spaces to just sit and 'be' as well as very private spaces. Lots of books to 'grab' for an evening read.

Room Tip: We choose the room that includes a large bed and a single bed.

I've stayed at Fountain Hall for nearly a year and have been so comfortable and so well taken care of. Business has taken me to Culpeper every week and after trying several motels there, I was fortunate to find this accommodation for my home away from home. Week after week, the hosts were welcoming and accommodating and the B&B is lovely. Beautiful yard with porches, antiques, and breakfasts to meet dietary needs. Thank you Steve and Kathy for your hospitality.

Room Tip: Rooms have different amenities so they will help you choose what you prefer. Personal AC/ heat syste...

It's a great old house in good condition with antiques. Don't use the front entrance, try the side. We had the Butler room with its impressive looking bed; it was comfortable. There was plenty of room and there was a nice private patio looking to the large backyard. The breakfast was semi-scheduled. While the breakfast was continental, the croissants were amazingly good, and baked by the owner. There are other beautiful homes in the neighborhood and we were walking distance to downtown restaurants. We tried the Thai restaurant in the Culpeper hotel and that was impressive; I love their panang.
BTW, the B and B towels were very nice; not those stiff smelly white ones; real towels.

House was originally built in 1859 as a large Victorian house. In the 1920's it was renovated, enlarged and remodeled in the Greek Revival style. All six rooms have 10 foot ceilings and private baths. My bed had an excellent mattress. There are three common rooms. The back yard is expansive with beautiful trees. The house sits in a historic district with other large beautiful homes. The house is just a few walkable blocks from the local Amtrak Station. Daily train service to Lynchburg, Charlottesville, Alexandria, Washington, DC, Baltimore, Philly, New York and Boston. The area around the station has many fine restaurants and unusual upscale shops on tree-lined streets. Less expensive options are just a few blocks farther away.

Room Tip: There is one room on the ground floor.
