“Great bike ride and good food in Damascus!”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

The trail was great, took a local shuttle, ask around for best prices - and had an amazing meal at the Blue Blaze Pizza spot downtown - we'll be back!

We just finished the creeper for the. 7th time. My 9 year old loves it, finished first trip when he was 7.

He has even completed all 34 miles.

“17 DOWNHILL Miles of Pure Fun!”
Reviewed 25 April 2014

Nothing quite like a downhill bike ride through the mountains of Virginia. The route was formerly a train trail and has several attractions along the way, as well as the infamous Creeper Trail Cafe! We go several times annually, especially in October for the foliage. Worth the trip!

“Beautiful ride”
Reviewed 18 April 2014

This was my first time on the trail so I didn't have any idea what to expect. We started the ride in Abingdon. We were only going to go half way, but it was such a beautiful day and the trail was flat, so we decided to ride to Damascus (17 miles). There is a bathroom and little store half way, but other than that, only Mother Nature. The trail is easy enough for children to ride. We didn't take any food or water and the ride took 4 hrs (leisurely) so I would recommend both

“The Virginia Creeper Trail, Whitetop, Virginia 24292”
Reviewed 4 March 2014

This is a must for the adventurer or family. Bring the bikes! Rentals available. Pack a lunch or buy on the trail. Starts at the old Whitetop Rail station at Whitetop, Virginia, just off Hwy 58. travel 17+ miles into Damascus, VA or continue on into Abingdon, VA. Follows the Laurel River so there is lots of water and wooden bridges to cross. Crosses the Appalachian Trail and meanders thru the wildness of SW Virginia mountains...but biking from Whitetop is downhill! Fantastic weekday (less crowded) or weekend retreat for family and friends. Great views and natural beauty. Wow!
