Had a great afternoon at Three Fox Vineyard in Delaplane Virginia. Took my 2 year old Pointer Mix, Daisy, along for the trip. Can not say enough about this vineyard….wine was great, views were amazing and the staff was so gracious and friendly…..even provided Daisy a treat as I tasted the various selections of wine. Highly recomend this little gem if you are out in the area. Be sure to stroll along their paths to the beautiful creek in the lower meadow to cap off your stay!

Would be a very nice to stop by for a picnic with your dog - open space down along the stream in the valley. Wine was ok - it is Virginia, but staff was friendly. We'll go back.

The wines here are about average for No. Virginia. They aim for an Italian slant and generally succeed, though there was nothing here that really stands out. We liked the Viognier, Gatto Bianco, Sangiovese and Merlot. Service was indifferent and slow, the snacks listed were not all available, and they ran out of Viognier. Also, be careful: we were told that wine glasses were included with a purchase of 3 bottles but then they reneged. At least one other party had the same experience when we were there. Also note: only porta-potties available. I would not go back any time soon. Try Naked Mountain or Fox Meadow instead.

We visited the winery recently (our second visit). They have really expanded in the last few years. They have some very nice wines (mostly Italian style) which are reasonably priced. We really loved the Leggero Chardonnay. I also liked the Sangiovese and the Viognier (very dry). My hubby liked the Nebbiolo and Cab Franc. So there are nice wines for all to enjoy. They also allow you to taste a guest wine (the Thibaut-Janisson Sparkling Chardonnay) which is wonderful, but expensive. The person who did the tasting was very nice. The grounds are beautiful and they have nice places to sit and enjoy a glass of wine, or play bocce ball, horse shoes or corn hole if you care to linger for awhile. It's a great place to have a picnic and spend the afternoon.
