It truly was a nightmare to drive up the mountain to get to Stone Mtn Vineyards, even if it had been the best wine I had ever tasted, I would not make the drive again. The road is barely wide enough for two cars and very steep. The view was incredible, but unfortunately our service was not. We had a total of 3 pourers by the time we finished tasting. The first two young girls who were serving us managed to wander away, we later found them outside smoking and drinking with other customers, which was very unprofessional. Our group enjoyed a bottle on the deck with the view and many groups had brought in picnics.

Wine, cigar, and a great view - they have a great variety of wine that should meet just about any one's taste.

We stopped at this winery on our way to Charlottesville on the recommendation of the B&B (The Lafayette Inn) that we were staying at. The Winery is at the top of a mountain in the Blue Ridges and it was worth the trip. We had a tour of the winery and also a tasting. The views from the Winery was fantastic. The ride up the gravel rode to the Winery was an adventure. It is worth a trip if you enjoying visiting Wineries.

We like to take our guests to this winery as the drive up is not for the faint of heart on the gravel road , but the fantastic view from the top is worth it . Plan to stay awhile take a picnic

This is my new favorite winery in VA. It is a long, windy, bumpy, uphill trip to get there - but oh so worth it. A SPECTACULAR view, great wine, fantastic attention from the owners, and a great deck to sit and relax with a glass and some snacks. You are welcome to bring your own picnic/cooler. Call first - they have limited weekend hours and close for a couple months in the winter due to the road accessibility. Don't forget your camera!
