“Good Time!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 October 2012

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. It was great!! The room was not fancy, but clean. The bed was comfy--true there was no a/c but the heat worked well. No tv- but we didn't need it!! We made new friends, hung out @ the restaurant and ate and laughed and had great time. The food was a bonus and beer was cold. The weather wasn't the greatest but we made the best of it. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. June--you are the best!! See ya again next year!!!

Room Tip: 4 rooms up on hill by themselves!! rooms close to restaurant are busier. It is beside a road so the...

My husband and I had stayed here once before and I hated it. He told me they had remodeled and it was much more improved. WRONG!! The toilet was stained, the shower was stained with the mud that was in the water, so why would you want to shower in that? I understand it's the time of year for stink bugs, but my goodness people, you own a hotel, find out what you can do to prevent them. Our room was loaded with stink bugs, ear wigs and spiders. We didn't sleep all night and were afraid to sleep in our pjs (so we slept in our clothes and put our coats on and pulled our socks over our pant legs to prevent anything crawling in our clothing) or keep the suit case in the room overnight for fear of bringing something home. We pulled the covers back and there were stink bugs in the bed, ear wigs in the shower and behind the headboards of the beds peeping out at us. The shower also had spiders all in it. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you live like that at home.

Just off the Blue Ridge Parkway at milepost 165. Didn't stay at the motel, but the restaurant is wonderful. A real old-timey roadside restaurant with lots of character, good food and excellent and friendly service. Unique in today's "trendy, trying too hard to impress" or fast food joints. We love this place. The best stop on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

As miss thang from Florida above stated, this motel is not nasty nor INFESTED with bugs. My goodness. It is a country motel, VERY reasonably priced. Yes, the rooms are plain and such, but it is a GREAT, CLEAN place to stay for a night.
The restaurant has GREAT home-cooked food. You can get wi-fi from the restaurant right next door.
Not a fancy place, but for 56. a night it is a nice place to get some rest when traveling.

Didn't overnight, but had lunch in the restaurant. As a tourist, this is just a great stop. We were riding the Blue Ridge Parkway and spotted it. On a hot (90+ in the valley) day it was a welcome retreat and I'm so pleased that places like this still exist. Americans, cherish this culture! A real diner in the middle of nowhere - perfect.

This isn't the Ritz-Carlton. If you ever wondered what motels were like in the 1950s, this is a fair example. No TV, no phone, no AC and certainly no WIFI. Just a clean room with furniture a good bed and bathroom. This isn't a complaint, its a warning. Moreover, bikers love this place. Its simplicity appeals to them (us). If you need the items noted above, don't plan to stay the night.

However, you may still want to try the restaurant. It is also out of the 50's, with not much space between tables and rather plain but good food. The chocolate pie is OUTSTANDING!

We took a motorcycle trip from Florida to Boston this was one of our stops along the way. I have to say I booked this not expecting much. We just needed a bed to lay our heads for the night. We got much more than we bargained for. The room was infested with all kinds of bugs and creepy crawlies. We were awake most of the night just wondering what was crawling on us. The bathroom was nasty. Even after riding all day and needing a shower we both passed. The shower was way to gross to even consider getting into. I highly recommend you drive a few more miles and find another place. The restaurant was no great shakes. It was just food.. Nothing to rave about. Nice people here but they are in over their heads.
