Our recent road trip through Virginia had us in fascinating community of Floyd for one night. Lisal at Bella La Vita Inn was our hostess and she was wonderful! The B&B is a lovely Tuscan inspired residence - Lisal said she and her husband, Matt, were inspired by Under the Tuscan Sun!

We had a downstairs room that was tastefully decorated, roomy and very comfortable. The entire experience was wonderful. We hope to return to Floyd again and will be calling LIsal and Matt when that time comes!

Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Terri

My husband and I spent a week at Bella La Vita Inn, Floyd, VA, in early May 2014. It was our first B&B experience. It was amazing! Lisah and Matthew were fantastic! Rooms are emaculate and tidied each day--even waste baskets emptied, etc. The breakfast was scruptious and healthy. One reason we hadn't done B&B's is we didn't want the heavy muffin/pastry-type breakfast. Lisah prepares delicious breakfasts with fresh herbs, makes her own quiche crust, the eggs benedict is fantastic decorated with asparagus! Coffee is ready at 7 AM and is organic and locally roasted.

We stayed in the Ex Libras room which is adorned with books. It would take staying for years to read all the books so you don't need to bring your own. The bathroom was separate from the bedroom but no problem at all. It was a great bathroom with all the spa-type needs if you forgot yours--shampoo, lotion, hair dryer; even a lighted makeup mirror.

Now if you want a place to sit outside, meditate, ready, do some yoga, watch the array of birds, this is the Inn for you. The gazebo became our favorite as the wisteria was beginning to show its color. Plenty of outside places to sit and read or just gaze about.

The common area inside was cozy and inviting. A bakery snack was provided each afternoon and often there was still some there later in the evening. You can even schedule a deep tissue massage right in your room with a cozy robe provided for your use.

Location is a dream: just 1 mile from the Blueridge Parkway and 2 miles from the one traffic light in Floyd. Don't let the one traffic light give you the impression there's not much to Floyd. On the contrary, we found plenty to keep us occupied for a week!! There is the Bell Gallery which houses many local artists wares plus a kitty rescue center. There is country music Thursday night at the Floyd hotel, Friday night and Saturday afternoon at the Floyd General Store, plus bands playing at the Doghouse Bar and other venues in town.

Our favorite activity is hiking on the many trails and Lisah and Matthew were superb at directing us to trails we hadn't found before. We will come back and will stay at the Bella La Vita Inn again as long as Lisah and Matthew are running it. They are available for whatever you need and give you privacy as well. They are full of information about the area and are deeply involved in the community; even run the Blueridge Parkway volunteer program which is responsible for keeping many areas open for hiking, camping and picnicing since the major budget cuts to the National Park Service had limited access to areas along the Parkway.

I am quite "picky" about accommodations and am an introvert so never visioned I would feel comfortable at a B&B, but I felt at home and enjoyed many conversations with Lisah and Matthew and looked forward to time with them.

Room Tip: All four rooms are special. There are 2 upstairs and 2 downstairs. Look at the website, but the ro...

We stay at B&B’s when we travel. This was at the top of our experiences. We were the only guests so we really got a chance to enjoy the hosts hospitality and kindness. Lisal and Mark, really make you feel like old friends. We were traveling in circle from the coast to the mountains and Lisal was terrifically helpful in planning our next two days. Thanks Lisal and Mark…

Room Tip: We were in the room Bramasole.

The B&B is located just outside town, which means being in a quiet and silent area (good for sleeping) and a stone's throw from a nice little country town well known for its traditions: don't forget visiting the Country Store (especially if it's friday night!)

This is a lovely inn tucked away on a country road just outside of Floyd. My room, Panis Angelicus, was very pretty and well-appointed and had a balcony overlooking the garden. The hosts, Lisal and Mark are so welcoming and gracious. The breakfasts are great! I loved my time at Bella La Vita and plan to return often. It's one the best B&Bs I've stayed at and I've traveled a lot.

Room Tip: I loved the Panis Angelicus room on the back of the inn - it was very quiet - and it was dark at nig...

My trip to Floyd, VA was unexpected due to the death of a beloved family member, so it was not easy because of the popularity of Floyd's weekly Friday Jamboree, and after finding no rooms at other inns, someone recommended Bella La Vita. I admit that I assumed it was probably mediocre since I was able to book the room I needed, but the warmth and genuine effort shown by Lisal to accommodate me for 4 nights -- even if it meant staying in one room for the first 2 nights and then helping me move to another for the second two -- was really appreciated. It seemed to be quite a distance from Floyd, but in fact, was only about 5 minutes, through lovely scenery with mountain vistas, rolling hills, and farmland. When I arrived, I was unsure since there were some less than up-scale homes nearby. But once I entered Bella La Vita Inn, it was magical.
The rooms were charming, clean, spacious, and extremely comfortable, with with every amentity anyone might need. There was even a gas burning fireplace that added not only the perfect touch of warmth on a chilly night, but a very romantic touch as well. The grounds were beautiful, calming, and designed for pure relaxation. But the most unexpected part was breakfast. There is breakfast, and then there is La Bella Vita breakfast! Served homestyle, with other guests, at the reasonable hour of 9 am, EVERYTHING WAS HOME-MADE AND MADE TO ORDER with consideration given to individual food preferences, needs, allergies, etc (you are asked explicitly about food requirements when you make the reservation) and her home made tarts, quiches, give instant testimony to the fact that Lisal is a gourmet chef! Who ever imagined getting a Michelin 3 star breakfast in Floyd VA! I can't wait to return.

Room Tip: There is no elevator, but if you need help with bags, Lisal and Matt are happy to help.
