This is a lovely rural cottage, that is in the middle of nowhere!
We used the cottage as a base for day trips out to such places as Amiens, Abbeville, Albert, Theipval, Doullens, St Riquier.
The cottage has everything we needed for a family break and there was even a surprise of a small pool, which was a good send as the temperatures rose!
The owners are a mine of information of places to go and things to see, they also have tips regarding parking, shopping hours etc.
The hamlet doesn't have any shops, but a bread last drives around in her van and sells fresh produce. If you need anything else there are two towns within a 5 minute drive to get supplies.
We were only there for a week, but we could have borrowed bikes to cycle round and explore.
We enjoyed a lovely family holiday, it was relaxing and fun and the welcome pack was lovely to see when we arrived.
If you want a lovely break away that is family friendly, easily accessible, quiet and ideally placed for sightseeing, then this is the place for you. As it is so quiet, you could just be a hermit for a week and totally chill.
We had a wonderful stay at Le Maison Longue, the village of Boffles is so peaceful and it's nestled in glorious countryside. The welcome pack is such a thoughtful touch and Keith and Keran were the perfect hosts from start to finish with some excellent tips on what to see. The cottage is so comfortable and really feels like a home from home.
Our son was captivated by the chickens and loved the garden and splash pool! There is so much to do in the surrounding area both for adults and kids that we'll definitely be returning as we barely touched the surface in a week!
If you want a relaxing holiday in a peaceful countryside location then i can't recommend this enough!
We spent a week at La Maison Longue with a 1 year old. Absolutely perfect place for us and our little one to explore. Great space to live in, a home from home and very large and well thought out. We loved the garden and animals and just found it was the perfect place for us. It was only our second time to France but we certainly found our way around and thought there was enough to do within a hours drive in all directions which was brill. Can’t recomment it enough. Thank you Keith and Keran for looking after us!
This is our third visit to Le Petit Hameau, our second in La Maison Longue. Keith and Keran are very welcoming and helpful, telling us about local places to eat and of interest. We borrowed bicycles and enjoyed riding the quiet lanes and the disused rail line. The accommodation is very comfortable and clean and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the peace and tranquillity of the countryside.
We stayed for a week in La Maison Longue, at Le Petit Hameau. The gite was really comfortable, the welcome pack was very welcome, and we really enjoyed the wood burning stove in the cool evenings.
Boffles Village is ideally situated if you want to visit WW1 sites near Albert, Arras, Amiens and Abbeville. The coast isn't too far away either. We would definitely recommend this group of gites.
Very quiet location, Vehicles a rarity. For visits to the Somme sites, gardens, Church architecture, shopping this is well placed. Quiet roads and short distances. Plenty to do withn 30- 45minutes during our week . Lots of good places for lunch when we were out and about.
Accommodation is a typical gite converted from farm buildings. The living / dining/Kitchen area was very spacious. I think bedroom 2 would be quite tight for 2 adults plus their clothes as storage is limited. Fine for children with clothes kept in cases under their beds.
Weather not warm enough to try the pool but felt warm to the touch when we arrived on the last hot day for weeks .
Welcome pack was great. Lovely butter and eggs. Information pack is comprehensive. Keith and Keran are very willing to share their extensive knowledge of the area.
La Maison Longue was very comfortable and just what we needed for three days of exploring the 7 valleys. We had a great welcome from Keith and the generous welcome pack of eggs, butter, bread, wine, beer etc was a lovely touch. Keith is a mine of information about the area, especially the war history and took the time to tell us about a great walk. Thanks very much for a great stay.
