Nice little place in a parking lot overlooking a inlet of the river. Food is roadhouse type, good burgers and dogs, nice quick stop for some good food.

My wife, our friends and I have eaten here a couple time, and we love how creative they are with their hot dogs! The place is small with picnic table seating only on the covered deck. It is technically "on the water", but really, they are on a dock overlooking a narrow channel with a gravel pit on the other side. Not really the river or bay views you'd expect. However, they have a great beer selection, all at very cheap prices (~$3-5).

We have tried the Seattle dog (snap dog with cream cheese & caramelized onions - $3.50), Lucha Libre dog (1/4lb. kosher dog with baked beans, bacon & mustard - $4.50), The Barking Dog (kosher with chili, mustard & onion - $3.75), crabcake sandwich (~$9.95) and popcorn shrimp ($5.95). All the hot dogs were great, though I would choose the kosher over snap dog for size and flavor. Both the chili and the baked beans went well with the dogs and didn't over power them. The sandwich was good with plenty of crab and good seasoning. The popcorn shrimp were just okay, and you don't get very many for the price.

Overall, a solid choice for a great hotdog and a beer, just don't expect stunning water views.

Followed TA reviews to the Barking Dog tonight. It was as good as touted. The location was great and so were the burgers/fries/potato salad!!

Took menus back to our hotel for the manager who asked us to check it out and let him know. WE LOVED IT, and told him so.

Next time we try the dogs and sausages. Good folks here.

Just got back from The Barking Dog. Had the double hamburger with spicy mustard, grilled onions and jalapeno peppers. Burgers are fresh just like grandma used to make. Great fries with kosher salt. A must visit spot.

A small place along the water. Free parking. Excellent menu choices. We enjoyed a California Dog and a Carolina Drive-In Dog with a side of fried clams.

The first batch of clams were over fried. They were replaced with no problem and the second batch was perfect.
