We had no idea that this place would be the highest point on our Father's day weekend trip to Hampton to attend a baby shower.A little bit of heaven Everything was perfect. We will go back.Stay in the Ellington suite if you can.

We stayed for 2 nights at this sweet, historic B&B in May, 2014. The hosts were gracious and helpful, the breakfasts were delicious and lovely. The location was perfect for driving to bayside restaurants, or for touring Williamsburg, Jamestown Settlement, and Yorktown.

Room Tip: The house is large and sits back from the main road in a very quiet section of town. Our room faced...

My fiance' and I traveled from Indiana to elope at The Magnolia House. We could not have chosen a more perfect home to begin our new life. From the beauty of it's namesake trees to classic architecture, the elegant decor, scented candles and classic jazz music being played, the Magnolia House is a delight for all the senses. The passion Miss Joyce and Langford have for their guests is unparalleled. Miss Joyce is a Renaissance woman, indeed, having a talent for anything she sets her mind to. Wonderful host, amazing cook, wise counselor for wedding plans and top rate concierge to all the nearby places to visit. However, In the midst of all our planning, we forgot to get a wedding cake.

On the day of or wedding, there was Miss Joyce in the dining area, frosting and DECORATING a homemade (not store-bought) cake! We we speechless. After our wedding came recommendations for photos at nearby historical Fort Monroe, with Miss Joyce guiding us to the best spots to take pictures.

Miss Joyce does more than just share her home with you, she makes you family. We truly felt blessed with all the attention and truly hated leaving. This was our first B&B experience and I must say that the bar has been set very high by Miss Joyce, Vera, Langford and the Magnolia House.

We loved the Magnolia House!! We booked our elopement wedding and three-day stay with Joyce, and were very pleased with everything. Lankford performed a wonderful ceremony, Joyce was helpful and sweet, and Vera served us delicious breakfasts each morning. We loved our room (The Haven) and when a slight problem arose, they quickly upgraded us to the also beautiful Ellington Suite. We enjoyed the sitting room, the nearby variety of restaurants, and all the personal touches that made our visit special. We can't wait to go back :-)

Room Tip: The Ellington Suite is the most private/separated from other guests.

The Magnolia Inn experience made my five year anniversary that much more special. Breakfast was superb and hospitality was wonderful. Our first time staying at a inn and the impression will be lasting for a life time.

Everything at the Magnolia House Inn was perfect - our room, the common rooms, the breakfasts (yum!) - but the best thing about Magnolia House is the innkeepers! You know the expression, "Come as a guest, leave as a friend?" I truly felt that at this inn, unlike anyplace else. Lankford and Joyce made us feel so at home - conversations were special! We would definitely return to Magnolia House when in that area again! It's a truly beautiful inn!

My husband reserved the Duke Elllington suite for us to celebrate our anniversary and my graduation from grad school at Regent University's School of Education. The ammenities and were superb and the Blair's thoughtfulness and attention to detail was spectacular. We were greeted with a freshly baked strawberry shortcake the evening of our arrival. The snacks, teas, and breakfasts were remarkably divine. The house is immaculately clean and fancifully decorated. Familiar with the Hampton area we spent more time in conversation with the innkeepers than venturing out. The history they shared about the Magnolia House is one we'll alwasy remember. In all our travels we've yet to find service from any other innkeepers that can begin to compare to that of Lankford and Joyce Blair; the Magnolia House is the best of the best in Virginia's B&B's.---Alicia Manning

Room Tip: The Duke Ellington suite is the one to go for!
