“Nice Little Stop Along the Way”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 May 2014

This was certainly a nice find when we visited Harrisonburg. This really isn't a typical farmers market. The market was outdoors under a large pavilion. The produce and baked goods are as fresh as you can get. There are also some vendors that sell little knick knacks and textiles (which were actually pretty cool). If you're in the area it's certainly worth a quick stop by.

“Don't miss this place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2014

Even if you're just passing by Harrisonburg, be sure to stop at this place! Not your typical farmers market... This place is mostly indoor, yet also features a greenhouse and an area selling storage buildings. Even a great place just to stop and stretch for a little bit, very clean and well-kept bathrooms also available!

They have a cafe, mostly featuring sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, etc but if you're there around lunch time they also feature a buffet. Overall the buffet is average, but you're still better off going with one of their hot dogs or the Ruben sandwich!

One store sells quilts, pillow shams, knick knacks, and civil war-era goodies. Fun store to browse in with lots of interesting goods. Another store sells kitchen gadgets of all sorts. Another sells equipment and things for horses, even used saddles. Antique lovers will LOVE stopping here and browsing around. Lots of antiques, everything from furniture to random little odds and ends. The main feature of this charming little market is the Mennonite-run area of the store. The upper end sells all kinds of grocery-goodies. Everything from candies, snacks, beef sticks, baked goods, cheeses, etc Great prices...be sure not to miss the pepperonied cheese or the home-made pimento cheese spread! Another Mennonite-run area features a canning area where they home make all kinds of jams, jellys, pie fillings, etc Tons of free samples of all their good eats...don't miss sampling their 'butters' such as apple butter, pear butter and banana butter!

“Down home with more.”

What an amazing place. From the crafts and art, to furniture and quilts, to home-baked goods and cooking ware. Was there over and over and still found something different and amazing each time.

“The BEST!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 January 2014

I visit the Harrisonburg Farmer's Market as much as possible. It the is the BEST Farmer's Market I have ever been to. The vendors and overall ambience is so friendly and wonderful. Even when I'm done purchasing the excellent fresh goods available, I linger, just to save some of the happiness.
