Noticed The Black Lion across the bridge as we were driving by on Easter Sunday and decided to stop for a drink. Very friendly welcome and service made us decide to stay for dinner. Excellent food at very reasonable price. Would unreservedly recommend this pub/restaurant.

Just had a gorgeous dinner by the river in Llanfair, portions are HUGE! We sat outside with the dog, which was no problem at all to the staff. Food was lovely, staff friendly and the interior is also really nice. Highly recommended.

We stopped at the Black Lion yesterday for a meal on our way home and we had an excellent meal. The choice on the menu was impressive and the prices very reasonable. The service from a young gentleman was excellent throughout. All of our meals were excellent in both quality and quantity and I would certainly recommend the Black Lion, Llanfair T.H. Diolch yn fawr iawn.

As we had our wedding reception here last March, we went again for Sunday lunch, as we often do. Greeted as always, as old friends by Gareth, always feel at home straight away. Lovely meal....I had belly pork, as we don't have this at home...to die for. My husband had the chicken breast. The vegetables are so plentiful...Roasties, Mozzarella mash, broccoli , leeks, carrots, cabbage and a large Yorkie, I've learned not to have a starter. Well worth a visit...but make sure to book.

Disappointed tonight when visited The black lion no atmosphere shame for such a beautiful country inn,no log fire,no back ground music,no flowers to brighten the tables and windows sills and bar,the food was o.k but did'nt have any wow factor, and for a country inn out of town needs it,once was a cosy pub has lost it ambience, felt cold and uninviting,we live in Abergele, but won't be visiting the black lion any time soon, please buck yours ideas up.sorry
