After an opulent stay at the local resort, we had a tasty and modestly priced breakfast at Lindsay's Roost. Met our needs.

We have just completed a four-night vacation at The Homestead in Hot Springs, Virginia. We were unwilling to pay the hefty prices at the resort restaurants, so we ventured into the nearby village in search of "good eats." Our search was rewarded when we found a hidden gem--Lindsay's Roost. We had breakfast there twice and dinner once. Our friends ate almost every meal there during our Homestead stay. The fried tilapia, mac and cheese, and green beans were delicious. The pancakes were great, the biscuits and rolls were tender and baked perfectly, and the crispy bacon was some of the best I've ever eaten. Throw in a really friendly staff and comfortable "kick off your shoes and sit a spell" atmosphere, and Lindsay's Roost fits the bill. Special kudos go to the cook and wait staff for serving a large group of bikers along with their regular customers on Saturday morning. When in Hot Springs, Virginia, "perch" at Lindsay's Roost!

Having visited the Homestead Owners Club in Hot springs many times, we decided to give this little " Hole in the Wall " a try, as described by some folks at the Homestead . WELL, some times you find gold in them holes.! We found it with their fried chicken and all the "fixens" that go with it. The meal was awesome!! Chicken cooked to perfection . Potato salad, brown beans,..... All great.! The atmosphere in simply and plain, cross between a Diner and local bar. Staff was lovely and attentive. My family enjoyed it so much we got a takeout order two days later. BTW, takeout food was just as good as eating in. Chicken didn't loose it's crispy ext. And tender int. !.......great place to dine when one wants to mix it up a bit after spending many days @ the HOMESTEAD !

For those tired of paying $27 for breakfast or $18 for a sandwich at The Homestead, this restaurant offers a good balance of tasty food at reasonable prices. They take cash only and nothing is fancy, but for simple fare, it is a better option than the Casino for lunch.
