“Amazing romantic retreat”
Reviewed 23 March 2014

My husband and I stayed at glen Gordon manor for valentines day in 2014 and it was absolutely amazing. Dane the owner is a renowned chef and his nephew Trent is just as talented. The dinner was so amazing with Carmelized Brussels sprouts with bacon and short ribs and oysters Rockefeller and the list goes on. The breakfast was literally 5 courses of heaven with homemade gar loa and yogurt and smoked salmon with spinach and potato pancakes. Everything was done so well and in such a relaxing atmosphere. The Wakefield suite was gorgeous and tasteful and the 2 bathrooms were to die for...we took at least 3 baths in the claw foot tubs in just 1day! Overall glen Gordon manor is a hidden gem but is so close to the dc metro area that is it so easy to get to but yet it felt so calm and quiet. We are looking forward to going back in the summer when the pool is open! Overall I could not redone this place any higher!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Glen Gordon Manor! The food, environment, and hospitality are second to none. The countryside is serene and the history is very interesting. The chef they have on site prepared some of the most flavor packed and amazing meals I've ever eaten. We will definitely be returning for another stay at Glen Gordon Manor!

This place is very unique and has quite a history. Get a tour form the staff and you will feel like you are royalty strolling in the footsteps of kings and presidents. Your meals will fill your stomach and melt in your mouth. My girlfriend and I appreciated the staff so much because they were so inviting and we ended up hanging out with them in the kitchen during dessert; its just the type of people they are. This is a perfect get away only a little over an hour from DC and a few hours from the beach.

We love coming back to Glen Gordon Manor! The owners are so hospitable and it's a real pleasure to see them. The food is always delicious, especially when they pair some wine with the meal. And around every turn is another beautiful piece of art! It's such a treat to come back! We're already planning when we can come visit again.

This was our second stay at Glen Gordon Manor, a treat for my wife's 50th birthday. A nice extended four day weekend, which was very relaxing and very comfortable. The staff (more like family than staff if truth be told) were all wonderful and welcoming. The ambiance and atmosphere are truly luxurious.

Our breakfasts were delicious -- they are always a treat with a varied cuisine, and portion sizes that let you enjoy everything that is served. We had dinner one night in the Hunt room at a discrete table for two -- the meal was outstanding, and the personal touch of having the chance to discuss the composition of a particular dish, or its preparation, or the wine paired with it made the whole experience that more special. The wine pairings with our dinner were excellent, and the extra touches with the all meals (my wife and I have a fairly restricted diet) make it readily apparent that Dayn and Trent are both phenomenal chefs, very experienced, and love what they are doing.

As the 'chef' at home, on each visit I've had a dinner in the kitchen by request, and truly enjoy the casual discussion with Trent (and whoever happens to be in attendance that evening -- did I mention that it feels like family?), mostly about cooking, that occurs in the less formal atmosphere. This might not be for everyone, but I always leave with a host of ideas about new dishes to serve, and how to improve meals at home (my soufflé's are better than ever).

We will definitely be back for a third (or fourth or fifth) visit when time allows.

What a great place! From the moment we made our reservation, this place was awesome. Trent (the Inn Keeper and Chef) was very helpful. We got a little lost on the way there (stupid GPS) and Trent directed us in and greeted us with a glass of champagne! Not a bad start. He showed us to the suites directly behind the main house. These were recently redone and very nicely appointed. I do wish there was an actual sitting area with a table or something in them though. No place to really sit and talk comfortably. The iPad with Sonos in the room is a nice touch!

We selected to have dinner on the property and Trent's food was outstanding along with perfectly paired wines! Breakfast was the same, delicious! I also like the fact that they go out of their way to make you a nice cup of coffee versus a Keurig machine or something like that we have seen at other B&Bs.

The location is nice and secluded but within a short drive to multiple wineries to spend the day! We'll definitely be back.

My fiancé surprised me with a formal wedding proposal at Glen Gordon Manor on August 31st. This is the best kept secret - quiet (we stayed in one of the private cottages); exquisite cuisine; close to day trip Wineries & the hosts were outstanding! We also enjoyed the other couples for breakfast & dinner. Lots of laughs & they got to "witness" our engagement! We can't wait to go back! Thanks Dayn, Nancy & Trent.....Ken & Kathy
