“Why is it called Red Rock?”
Reviewed 31 October 2013

I just had knee surgery so I was nervous to go on the trail, but I found it fairly level with the most hazardous thing being above ground roots once in awhile. It's a lovely trail with a nice bench at the end for sitting and looking at the beautiful Potomac River. The trees were beautiful with fall colors. The bluffs are of red clay, but I didn't see any Red Rocks. Does anyone know why it's called Red Rock?

“nice short trail”
Reviewed 1 June 2012

This place has a nice short trail loop that goes towards the Potomac River - nice views of the river from the overlook. You can hike down to the river if you want by following the trail. Good short hike.

“Nice spot for a short hike!”
Reviewed 9 April 2012

Red Rock is tucked into a bend on the Potomac River just outside Leesburg. It's got nice trails - with hills - that take you to a dramatic cliff overlooking the Potomac.

“Nice walk to the river in the middle of Leesburg ... well almost the middle of Leesburg”
Reviewed 6 February 2012

I remember when this place was REALLY in the middle of nowhere but still only about 2 miles from downtown Leesburg. The area around it has ground up a lot in the past 20-25 years. But the park itself is still a gem. Once you get on the trail you'll feel like you're in the wilderness. And it's a short hike down to the Potomac River. Great place.
