Brierley Hill Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #1 of 18 Lexington B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 4 July 2014

If a visit to Brierley Hill was your first B&B, you may be slightly disappointed in any other B&B! Dave and Karen made us feel right at home with a beautiful room and a fabulous view of the mountains. Breakfast all three mornings was delicious and all very different - including edible flowers from their garden. Wonderful fresh fruit, very light waffles, delicious strata just to name a few of the delightful breakfast items. The inn is just two miles from historic Lexington, but you feel as if you are in the middle of no where - only trees and hills as far as you can see. Dave and Karen obviously love people and love what they are doing and it shows in every detail of your visit.

This B&B has just about everything going for it. Located a very short drive (or even brisk walk) away from the center of Lexington, Brierley Hills has the feeling of being more remote giving it a feeling of splendid peacefulness and solitude. It's elevated position creates the stage for the magnificent views over the fields and mountains. A number of the rooms face in the direction of the view which gives you the most spectacular seat for sunrises.

We stayed here recently with elderly parents as a stop on the way back from Virginia Tech to Northern Virginia. It was an Anniversary present for our parents and to ourselves and one that we will long remember. Our parents stayed in the Magnolias Cottage Suite - a standalone building with a wonderful set up that has the view visible in all its panoramic glory from 2 large bay windows in the bedroom and seperate large sitting area. This 'room' costs a fair bit more than the others but worth every cent. We stayed in the Once Upon a Time room - again with the view and with all the comforts you could need including a very nice and comfortable 4 poster bed.

Everything is high class about this B&B but Dave and Karen's friendly hospitality make you feel very much part of their home. The outdoor seating area at the back is a wonderful place to relax or take your breakfast which in itself is a home cooked feast - lovingly prepared by the hosts.

If I had just one complaint to make........................nah, just kidding this place is perfect!

I just returned from a two night visit to Brierley Hill B&B and I highly recommend it. The B&B is beautiful inside and out, the location is wonderful - picturesque and blissfully quite. We enjoyed the wildlife, especially the cardinals and hummingbirds! So nice to get away from the DC suburbs to this peaceful, lovely spot. Dave & Karen were wonderful hosts and the food and service was terrific! I can't wait to go back - I bet it is even more wonderful in the fall!

Our visit to the Brierly was splendid. Its location on top of a beautiful, quiet hill, is only minutes drive from downtown Lexington. Dave and Karen made us feel like we were old friends, not mere customers. They are a Christian couple, who shows warm hospitality to everyone who enters their doors. And if you are looking for a magnificent breakfast, look no further...exceptional! The Brierly is how all B&Bs should be run; leaving you with the desire to linger just one more day.

Room Tip: Beautiful view, quiet, spacious, quality bedding, large bathroom, exceptionally clean.

Dave and Karen truly have a beautiful B&B, Our room looked out across fields and hills. The
food was great Karen and Dave are really good cooks and make you feel right at home. We
also enjoyed meeting their dogs since we are dog lovers. My husband and I will certainly be
back again.

The food, views, location, hospitality, accommodations, and experience of this B&B was fantastic. My daughter and I extended out stay and loved everything about this place. David and Karen made our stay peaceful, joyful and satisfying. The energy they put into making one's stay pleasurable was wonderful. And breakfast was to die for. We left spoiled by the care we received.

From the time we entered the property and drove up the winding drive to the B&B, we felt at home. Innkeepers Dave and Karen are gracious, special people who sincerely care about their guests. It also helps that they are wonderful cooks who presented us on the porch each morning with a delicious breakfast! Our room was spacious and comfortable with gorgeous views from three sides! You can literally sit outside on the porches and hear a pin drop; it is the most peaceful, serene setting! We will definitely return, hopefully soon!
