We stopped in while in the area for a lite dinner... it was around 6PM on a Friday night and they had a bluegrass band playing. They had a nice size crowd, but we were still able to get a GREAT table out on the patio. The music was wonderful!

We ordered the flatbread for an appetizer which was REALLY good! It came with a marinara soup that was made with one of their reds! We each ordered paninis which were OUTSTANDING! Bread was soup and the meats, veggies and sauces inside were out of this world! Best Panini I've ever had!

If you're in the area, visiting wineries or just hungry, they are definitely worth a try for sandwiches and such!

Moving to the area from northern VA and the abundance of wineries there, I was curious as to how central VA wineries would compare. This was probably the 4th winery I visited and have been back several times since.

If you can get over the $17 fasting fee (just do it once, or share it with whomever you are with) the atmosphere here is relaxing with the big sofas, fireplace and views. The food has not been a disappointment either. The pretzel is wonderful and I usually get one of the wraps, I prefer the red wines, but friends I have taken here are fans of the whites so you can't go wrong either way!

With the abundance of vineyards that have sprung up in central VA in the last ten years, it seems the various wineries begin to blend together after awhile. Early Mountain, however, separates itself by offering a myriad of great wines. The red blends are especially nice, and the outdoor seating arrangement makes for a great way to spend a relaxing Sunday afternoon. The venue itself is quite beautiful, open and spacious, but feels a bit like it was optimized for weddings. Bring your own bites if you like and sit outside, and enjoy some great scenery.

Pleasantly surprised by the quality red wine selections! The facility was quite nice full of character and the atmosphere was relaxing for a rainy day!

My husband and I were able to stop and enjoy this winery after a day of hiking in Shenandoah. The building is huge and beautiful. The weather was lovely so we were able to sit outside and enjoy the view of the grape vines with the Shenandoah mountains in the distance. We had the wine tasting that only included the wines from Early Mountain Vineyards, although they offered tastings that included various wines from the area. The tasting was $12 and included four samples which seemed a little steep when I'm used to pay around $5-$8 for a tasting. However, all the wine was delicious. We ended up leaving with 2 bottles. We ordered a cheese platter to go with our wine and had the chef pick which cheeses to give us.The cheese platter was $24 but we splurged cause we were on vacation. We liked that they gave you a lot of bread to go with your cheese. Definitely worth a visit if you're a wine lover, I would give it five stars if not for being a little too pricey.
