Me and my husband spent 4 nights in this magical oldy worldy house which is situated perfectly in the heart of the lake district.
Nigel and Trish are the hosts of the house and you could not ask for a nicer couple to look after you during your stay, nothing is ever too much trouble for them and they like to help you as much as possible with anything you ask.
The house itself has a very relaxing ambiance and Our room 'Osprey' had everything you could ask for it was a great size, clean and the bed was very comfortable.
The food at the Seatoller House is amazing, one of the first things Nigel and Trish said to us was that 'you will never go hungry at the Seatoller House' and this is very true! We thoroughly enjoyed eating like King and Queen for the whole duration of our stay, the packed lunches that can be made for you are ideal for a long day on the hills and are very tasty. When you get back from your long walk and step back into the Seatoller House you are greeted by the lovey smell of freshly made cakes which are made everyday and are too good to walk away from.
We cannot put into words how good this place is as they do not do it enough justice, you will have to visit yourself.
We rate this at the top of our places to stay and cannot wait to visit again.

It's a few years since I stayed at the Seatoller, Dan and Lynne were hosts in those days. Nigel and Trish are now in situ, and whilst I didn't meet Trish, Nigel was a warm and welcoming host. The rooms are as good as ever, not your air conditioned city hotel, but comfortable, and most importantly, clean. The communal dinner with a fixed menu (dietary needs can be accommodated) is not everyone's cup of tea, but I have never been disappointed, and they do have a very adequate, and much improved, wine list, with a couple of cracking top end wines at sensible prices. Breakfast is all good quality ingredients, all bread is home made, and packed lunches are excpetional, in bot quality and value. An honesty bar, with draft lager and Jennings, as well as a decent range of Scotch and other spirits. Residents sit together in the adjacent lounges for pre and post prandial drinks, and a wonderful country house atmosphere ensues. My walking group have twice taken over the whole place for long weekends, and we will certainly do so again. Thanks Nigel, I look forward to seeing you again soon.

Seatoller is humble, adilic and always leaves you wanting more!
We love revisiting Seatoller throughout the seasons it is very relaxing, comfortable, friendly atmosphere...which is perfect for leisurely weekends away and equally to celebrate special occasions.
Seatoller is lovely, welcoming and homely.. It is also indulgent with Trishs amazing breakfasts, cakes and evening meals and Nigel's welcoming skills and wine recommendations!!
The scenery is beautiful inside and outside of the building.
The bedrooms are very comfortable and spacious, the dining room is gorgeous..both recently renovated  and the library is like going back in time with the gorgeous open wood fire, books, big comfy chairs and a chocolate treat and hot drink choice after dinner!
It is a quiet area and this is the beauty of it.
Nigel and Trish's approach is so refreshing feels more home from home... You certainly go home well fed, watered and revitalised!
The last couple of times visiting We have enjoyed taking our dog to Seatoller house too, the walks are amazing.
The house is kept immaculately fresh, clean and tidy.
Thanks to all staff and we will certainly see you again soon!
Thankyou!!

A beautiful, quaint b&b which provides comfort, cleanliness, beautiful scenery, sweet gardens. The house is adorable and individual, the beds are wonderfully comfortable, bathroom and bedrooms spotlessly clean, full english breakfast was very satisfying with the tastiest cumberland sausages and the dining room is homely and welcoming.
Nigel and Trish are really friendly and helpful and I have to agree with other comments of their hospitality and warmth.
Cannot recommend this b&b highly enough, it's a little treasure!

We have stayed in Seatoller House twice now and cannot wait to return again next year, we've already booked! Nigel, Trish and the staff provide first class hospitality to their guests and offer a unique experience to all that stay there. We love dining with the other guests around the two large tables at breakfast and evening meal. The food is superb and is a wonderful way of finishing off the day after a day of walking in the lakes. The bar and snacks available are run on trust, which really is something in this day and age that doesn't seem to exist.
The rooms are extremely clean, very comfortable and all have their own bathrooms either en-suite or just down the hall. Seatoller House really is an amazing find, excellent value for money and would highly recommend. We cannot imagine ever staying anywhere else when we visit the lakes!

Getting Out has been enjoying group holidays at Seatoller Guest House in the beautiful Borrowdale Valley since 2003. There is no better place to stay in the North Lakes region. What makes it so special? It scores a maximum of 10 out of 10 in all categories. The food, the exceptionally friendly managers and staff, the very comfortable and spotless rooms and there is plenty of space in which guests can relax and unwind - the lounge, the library, the guests kitchen or in the beautifully maintained garden. Whether you are visiting this establishment as an individual or a group, it will provide all your needs, you will not be disappointed. The informal and relaxing atmosphere is a major contributor to its success. If you are an all-weather walker, Seatoller GH has a dedicated drying room.

We were never people who returned year after year to any venue, no matter how good, until we found Seatoller House in the early '80s. Its charm and unique format just hooked us; what's more, it hooked our then young children who immediately rated it a venue of choice when asked for their holiday suggestions - and who have continued to visit by themselves. Over the years the House has never lost its charm. We have been privileged to watch the House develop through 4 management teams, each one adding their own innovations and improvements whilst respecting what the nature of the House and the guests who visit. Whether just holidaying or holding special family parties there, the welcome has always been warm from house staff and guests alike. Tricia and Nigel continue the best traditions of the house whilst bringing their own calm and welcoming atmosphere. If you want to hide in a corner and choose your own menu, Seatoller House is possibly not for you. If you like conversing and meeting interesting people from diverse occupations around a communal dining table: if you like staying in an old house full of character: if you like one of the Lakes quieter and more picturesque areas - then Seatoller House is most likely a place you will enjoy, or even become addicted to. Tricia is a worthy custodian of the Seatoller House reputation for good food. Her fixed menu (adaptable for guests with dietary requirements) saves the mental energy of choosing which is best diverted to selecting a glass/ bottle from Nigel's interesting wine list. The guestbook in the lounge provides testament to the continued enjoyment of visitors...... and in some cases their canine companions.
