Lovely place to relax and get off the world..
The room was wonderful with a four poster bed.

I make a mean breakfast but breakfast here knocked the socks off any I have ever tasted.
I will be back

Hi Phil and Wendy
Thank you very much for your kind review. We have been cooking breakfasts for 18 years now so should be able to produce a memorable meal.
We will look forward to your return.

I have no hesitation in recommending Strenneth as an excellent place to stay. My single room was bijoux, to say the least, but was extremely comfortable with all the usual hotel facilities provided. Breakfast was more than adequate with a choice of cereals, fruit juices and an excellent selection of choices from the hot breakfast menu. Mine host offered me a chilled pear which he picked from the tree where it had been cooled by the early morning air. I would have no hesitation in recommending Strenneth as an excellent place to stay in the Diss area of Norfolk.

Paul and Yolanda were very nice and accommodating. The room was wonderful and the breakfast great. Paul is into history of the location and my husband was looking for two churches his family went to in the 1300's and Paul knew where they were. The churches are still being used and Paul also recommended going to the Records Office in Suffolk and we found more information there. We were also interested in World War I airfields and Paul recommended Duxford which was on the way to London. That museum had great information that my husband found interesting.

Hi
Thank you for your kind review and we were pleased to help you. Our experience is that it is quickest to start at the Public Records office in Norwich and Ipswich.
It was quite something to learn that you had relatives locally in the 1300's you should be very proud. It is a shame that you didn't have time to visit Fersfield Church and follow up on leads there.

We enjoyed our stay, really felt at home, we would like to stay again. Our Dog came with us and there was some god walks, lovely setting and peaceful. It was well signposted considering it is in the countryside.

Room tip: Very clean and cosy with all facilities.

The main part of this BB/Guest house is 16 century in origin, with all the charm and quirkiness an old property implies. However, the guest facilities are excellent. We had a large room, with a four poster bed, and tasteful antique furniture. The bathroom included bidet and large corner bath, easily big enough for two. There was no shower, but there was a handheld shower wand plumbed in handheld and mixer tap. There isn't a shower curtain, but there is a none slip bath mat. The towels are very large and fluffy. Overall the towels and bed linen are of the very good quality. There is nothing cheap or low quality in the room.
The breakfast menu is amazing, and all is cooked to order. Bacon and sausages are from local suppliers. The eggs are from the owners chickens. Kippers come from Lowestoft. There is also local honey, which is absolutely delicious, and an array of home cooked preserves including three fruit marmalade. If you like a glass of applejuice at breakfast, that is made locally too, and yes,it is delicious. Endless coffee or tea ,and toast complete the service. It all tastes very fresh, and is cooked to perfection.
Hosts Paul and Yolanda provide a warm and friendly service which is never intrusive. When they ask if there is anything at all they can do to add to your comfort, they mean it!
The house is situated in typical Norfolk Countryside, surrounded by open fields. There is a small village, Kenninghall nearby where there are a couple of pubs providing pub grub and finer dining and a few miles further is Diss, where you will find several restaurants and an excellent chip shop.

Room tip: There is a range of accomodation, from rooms within the house to self catering cottages although you can book breakfast as an option .
