We stayed at the Three Sisters Log Cabin in Montebello - it was as stunning as the description on the web and well worth a stay. Rustic but comfortable and well equipped. The only thing which let it down were the annoying notices everywhere telling you what not to do! We also hired horses at the Montebello Country Store. What a fantastic ride for beginners - we would recommend it to anyone.

The people at the campground were very nice and helpful. They were extremely busy when we arrived and we had a little wait to get checked in but that couldn't be helped. The country store had lots to look at and we enjoyed browsing while we waited. The bath house on the campground was clean and tidy. The security lights were bright enough to walk around the campsite without difficulty but not too bright to sleep. We would stay there again. The Appalachian Trail is within a mile or two and so the hiking was great.

We didn't camp out there, but we went to do the trail ride they offer and it was a great experience. The guide took us out longer than we paid for and was really nice man. We rode through beautiful mountain trails past streams and rock formations. He really went out of his way to make it enjoyable for us. Will go back again. Enjoyed the chili at the store too, but I don't think I would go to the resort to fish it looked like kind of a joke.

You are in the middle of the best mountain and forest hiking, you can camp for free in so many wonderful spots. The people at the "resort" can [--]. And I have never seen anyone catch a dam fish there as well! Just drive on and skip this dump! Find a state park or trail to camp.

We statyed at three sisters cabin in montebello, virginia. The cabin is very pretty. There is no central heating, only a small propane heater in the living room. The bathroom only has a thin white sheet to seperate you from the rest of the living room, no vent. Showers water is only hot for tops 5 minutes and the bathroom is ice cold with no heating in it. The kitchen has no vents. There is one big room upstairs that is it, with a big bed and two small ones pilled in a room. The hot tub is obviously old and wouldn't warm up within the whole 3 days we were there. If you stay look forward to the owners popping up at any moment. You also half to take your own trash out and take it in your car. There are signs everywhere to conserve towels, washclothes, and paper towels. There do not want children to bring glitter, glue, etc. because it is messy. The TV is micro-small. No open air fires are allowed. The Blue Ridge parkway is subject to closing in bad weather, no state maintenance. There was a lot of false advertising on the website, they do not tell you about having to take out the trash. Also, if you dirty the hot tub there is a 75 dollar charge. Look forward to the owner waiting outside at 11:00 Am waiting in the driveway when it is your day to check out. Overall way to much money, non effective stay. Cabin is pretty but we felt that we were got.. It was so cold in the bathroom that my toothbrush bristles were frozen, and you had ot take a blanket to go to the bathroom. Overall we went away to get privacy and the owners showed up twice in the three days we were there.
