Glad we chose this place! The owners were absolutely wonderful hosts and couldn't have been kinder. The breakfast was delicious. Beautiful house and spacious room. Only thing that could have made it better is if the bathroom was updated. Will definitely be back if we are the in the area!

On our way to Williamsburg, we spent a night in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley at Widow Kip's B&B. We enjoyed our stay, sleeping soundly on the cushy mattress placed on a huge antique bed. Each room is tastefully decorated with many antiques and (what my hubby likes to refer to as) nicknacks. The property itself was enjoyed by my friend and I, as we were able to explore it, the creek across the road, and the wonderful view of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance. The best part of our stay were the inn keepers, Betty and Bob Luse. They were very helpful (even offering tools, a drop cloth, and their parking area to our friends, whose brakes had given out on their SUV. The husband was able to fix them right there and avoid an expensive and time-consuming trip to a garage!) The breakfast was superb, and the conversations with our host and hostess were informative and enjoyable. We learned a great deal about the area and its history. We had our own private bath. Thank you for a comfortable and very enjoyable respite!

We were in neighboring Woodstock, VA to take a hot air balloon ride for our anniversary. The ride had to be rescheduled a couple times, so we didn't make any hotel reservations just in case we would have to reschedule. I had seen Widow Kip's listed before and thought it sounded like a nice place to stay, so after our ride I called to see if they had any openings that evening.
Betty, our host, sounded so warm and inviting we immediately reserved one of her cottages. The price was very reasonable and it was close to Woodstock. We were met at the door by Betty with a welcoming smile - something we needed to see after arriving so late. Bob, our other host, greeted us as we came into the home. They were warm and gracious throughout our entire stay and made us both feel at home and welcome. Our cottage reminded me of my Grandmother's home, one of my favorite places in the world. There were antiques throughout the cottage with handmade afghans and quilts.
The next morning we were served the most delicious stuffed french toast I've ever had, with bacon, sweet bread and drinks. I loved the melon ball fruit cup with a very distinct and delicious flavor. Everything was fantastic!
Our cottage also had two chairs, several chests and a separate bathroom/shower. I'm an early riser and my husband likes to sleep in. It was great for me to be able to sit on the small patio with a table and comfortable chairs the next morning reading my book while he was able to sleep without being disturbed.
I would highly recommend Widow Kip's Country Inn to anyone who wishes to relax, feel like you're home - only better - and meet two wonderful people, our hosts.

Room Tip: They offer rooms in the "main house", but we were there to celebrate our anniversary and w...

Widow Kip, and it's owners Betty and Bob, are outstanding. I could not have chosen a better B&B. I was treated with such care and attention. I stayed in the Sow's Ear cottage, and will do so again. They are dog friendly, and have a nice big back yard, and a trail that is manicured to walk your dogs. It is close by to a lot of wineries, and downtown historical Mt. Jackson. Just an amazing place.

The service was first rate! The Luce's couldn't have been nicer. We stayed in the Silk Purse Cottage. It was a girl's dog-show weekend. We visited Crosskeys winery. Had a lovely time. the breakfasts were sumptuous! Great coffee! Pet friendly! I would add pavers to the cottages as the grass was very wet and slick.

We stayed at the Silk Purse Cottage with our two children and dog and we couldn't have asked for a better accommodation. The cottage was cozy and had all of the amenities a family would need - small kitchenette, TV for kids, and a fireplace. The breakfasts were wonderful and our picky eaters ate every bite. Property is beautiful for walking around (and walking the dog) and is close to town and the caverns and restaurants. We're planning a move to the area and we will surely be back to Widow Kip's and have it as our temporary home away from home while we explore the area. Oh, and Betty and Bob are the friendliest of hosts and gave us a lot of great information about the area. Thanks for making our stay special!

Room Tip: The silk purse cottage is perfect for a family and sleeps four and is private.

Just stayed for a weekend at Widow's Kip and the accommodations were wonderful. We got a free upgrade to the Silk Purse cottage, which was a separate stand-alone structure consisting of a bed, kitchenette area, bathroom and living room area with TV and fireplace. Overall, it was excellent. As good as the room was, the breakfasts were even better. Bob and Betty gave us a truly delicious breakfast each morning, and accommodated my gf's gluten allergy with aplomb. We also appreciated all of the suggestions and insider-tips that they provided about what to do in the area. Overall, a great experience!
