“A tranquil place in the centre of Botou”
Reviewed 26 July 2013

Rarely you see a place like this, green, peaceful, blue sky within a big city in China. The dinner in a Mongolian Tent under the great Genghis Khan picture, listening the mongolian music, drinking the local sprit with friends was something else all together.
It is not just tourist! It is a local park! the locals go there for a run, walk or ride... It is a local park and you do not need to pay a cent if you do not want to. No one tries to sell you anything!

“Too touristy”
Reviewed 17 April 2012

This feels like a throwback to a time when Communist countries would stage big folk events for the edification of tourists. In this case, a mix of Mongol music and food was on offer. The music show was fine - if you like that kind of thing - but it felt strained. As this was April, and well before the Summer season, we were virtaully alone in the large dining room/theatre - which added to the odd sense of alienation.
The food was tasty - but seemed to have been prepared hours earlier, and much of it was served cold. Not great.
