For get there you should rent a moto. Go to Anisakan village. There you leave moto and have to walk about 45 minutes down during your way you will see small waterfall - good place for relax on the back way. Back way will take more than 1 hour so be sure that you have enough water (also you can buy near waterfall)

The Dattawgyaik Waterfall is located in Ani Sakhan which is the half way point between Mandalay and Pyin Oo Lwin. It is also known as Anisakan Falls. The height of the waterfall is nearly 122m and the depth is about 91m. The trail to the fall is steep. It takes 45 minutes from the trail-head to the bottom of the falls and climbing back to the top is about 90 minutes up. I went ¾ way down and then my asthma was bad so I took the motor cycle and the water falls was nice but dry the motorcycle ride up was bit scary but fun as well.

WE stopped at the waterfall on my way to Pyin OO Lwin. The walk down was really nice and most part is shady under trees as well. I had 3 lovely ladies that walk down with me as well. They were carrying cans of drinks for us!!
it was pleasant place to sit and enjoy the peace.
However the walk up is fairly steep it is manageable if you have a minimum of fitness but I will not recommend it for someone with waking difficulties. It takes around 30 mins to walk down and count from 30 to 45 mins for the walk back up.
WE got there with a rental car and driver from Mandalay.

I went there in March 2014 during my 28 days stay in Myanmar. A taxi would take you there for 15 dollars from Pyin oo Lwin(Maymyo) but I recommend hiring a motor bike from Maymyo which would be 10 dollars including full tank fuel. (I hired from Grace Hotel 2.)
There is a shop at the beginning of the descend to the falls and they will charge about 50 cents parking fee and it's safe.

Be careful not to talk to anyone who tries to initiate a chat with you because at the slightest response they assume themselves to be your guide and start coming with you. And they will start talking non-stop and you won't be able to enjoy nature but listening to them.

There is NO need of a guide because the road down leads only to the falls. You can even take a shortcut at some places yourself as you can see the winding road below. DO NOT be fooled by a board leading to a resting area and a cave with a Buddha statue as it's just a scam.

There are people who would carry you on motor bikes if you cannot climb up but it's not necessary unless you are a disabled person. It's just a walk of around 30 mts. If you take a good rest at several places on the way up you won't even sweat much.

The falls are worth seeing, and it will be an experience to remember.

Do yourself a favour and visit Anisakan Falls. It's marked on googlemaps (on the road towards Mandalay), so it's easy to get there on a motorbike. It takes a while to walk there (and back even more) but it's so much worth every effort. Views are just stunning and you will probably have it all to yourself. Take plenty of drinking water and some snacks as it's definitely worth to stay there even for the whole day / afternoon. Come quickly before it becomes another crowdy touristy spot.
