Peaceful and cooling. Advisable to travel during November to December period due to the cooling weather!

“Decent”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

This place doesn't really have a big waterfall. It is more of rapids. It still look pretty enough for some photo taking sessions though.

If you have the time, I would recommend Anisakan Falls instead of this one. This one is more accessible but definitely not as beautiful as Anisakan Fall

“Locals hangout”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2014

The Peik Chin Myaung Cave is situated about 8 miles outside Maymyo (Pyinoolwin) near Wetwun Village, the cave is formed in a limestone mountain and a stream flows inside this massive cave. There are many pagodas and Buddha images built inside the cave by devoted Buddhists. The whole cave is lit with electric lights, be careful of your camera and electric equipment’s inside the cave as it is very humid inside. We were there on Sunday and it was school holidays and there were huge crowds of locals. We all walked in single line, the deeper you go, the hotter you get with a feeling of suffocation, if you have a respiratory problem, don’t go too deep inside. There is a spectacular waterfall cascades down the cliffs near the caves, it was great delight to see the children enjoying the dips, bathing in the streams outside the caves. As my feet were dirty from walking the caves, I also dipped my feet in the cool stream which was lovely.

“A bit dull”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 January 2014

There's not much sightseeing in the area. It's more a town to relax and enjoy the views. The falls and caves are part of any tour. Waterfalls are nothing spectacular compared to others in Asia. It's more a locals hangout. The caves are extensive so it's a good walk but feels like a Disney attraction with plastic monk statues and Buddhas.

“A place to stretch your legs”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 December 2013

I'm not sure whether we were meant to visit the falls as a legitimate part of our itinerary, or whether we were too early to check in to our hotel and our guide felt that a visit would help pass the time. Whatever the reason, and even though we spent a pleasant hour wandering around the falls and across a rickety bridge, they were mostly man-made and not the type of natural wonder that a tourist would be remotely interested in visiting.

It was great to watch locals bathing and enjoying themselves, but as a previous reviewer mentioned, the rows and rows of stalls selling identical jars of jams was a little bemusing.
