“Average hotel with a good location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2013

This hotel is located just on the beach if you have the beach room, if not they will put you in the room on the other side of the street so be aware about the when you book the room. But if you get the room at the beach you Im sure you will be happy because it has a very good location.
This hotel is for sure not new and I think it needs some maintenance but overall it’s a nice hotel with a nice pool that you can relax the whole day. Only one problem with the pool is that you need to grab a sun chair early in the morning to get one and the people that get a sun chair just keep their stuff at the sun chair the whole day even if they go the their rooms or to eat some food…
They do have internet that works ok
The breakfast is nice and you can choose many things from the buffé
I can recommend this hotel even if its little old…

My wife and I noticed this hotel when we were at a tourist desk at our hotel in Bangkok. We liked the name and thought the price was reasonable. The hotel is at White Sands beach which I think is closest to the ferry (versus Lonely beach and the other beaches). The hotel is actually split into two parts which sit across the street from each other. We had to check into the lobby on the side closer to the beach (beachside) and then walk to our room across the street to the other building (landside).

The hotel was nice, clean and had plenty of space. There was a mini-fridge stocked with some water and soda. I think there was also some vodka and chips on the dresser. I do not remember if we had to pay for the water but everything else cost something. The beachside portion of the hotel had a restaurant which served complimentary breakfast to guests (It was okay).

Beachside also held a very nice, large pool with a poolside bar and a children's pool. The pool sat right on the beach front and had a nice view of the ocean. The pool was one of those endless pools where water flowed over one side. The pool was a little dirty however, at one point there was part of a tree branch in the pool along with a healthy amount of sand. The beach front was okay, a little small although the ocean was nice. It stayed shallow for quite a while.

Overall we had no problems, liked the location and I enjoyed the pool.

This hotel had a perfect beach location. They had everything you needed and were helpful when they needed to be. The rooms are just decent. They're older and not as well kept as some of the other hotels we've stayed at in Thailand, but it wasn't terrible.

The hotel has a breakfast buffet which is just okay. They also had a restaurant, but I didn't try it. They have seating under a roof as well as seating on the beach which makes it nice and romantic if that's the kind of night you're looking for.

They advertise that they have a jacuzzi, but from what I experienced, there wasn't one. There was a kiddie pool and a larger pool that had jets coming out of one small area of the pool. They hotel also is located to many other restaurants and budget and mid range hotels as well. There were a lot of nicer hotels, but this was pretty decent aside from the older type rooms.

FYI: don't go to the COOKIES HAIR SALON. I don't think they are affiliated with the hotel, but the ladies there will totally do a crap job, give you services that appear to free--but aren't, and totally overcharge you. Repeat. Do not go to the Cookies Hair Salon connected to the hotel. The massage place should be fine, but do not go to the hair salon for anything.

I was there in November 2012 together with 2 friends. We first had a triple room at Cookies, but the hotel building which is over the street, not on the beach. This room was awful, fool of insects and humidity and the shower didn't work.

But we changed the room with one in the beach building, with a balcony over the swimming-pool. This room was very good, clean, with a gorgeous view in the sunset.

Cookies is located in the White Sand resort, the commercial part of Koh Chang island, the busiest. If you go far away from White Sand, in the other part of the island, here the landscape becomes more spectaculous but the beaches are narrow.

After stopping at, at least 8 hotels on the "White Sand" stretch of Ko Chang, It seemed that the best choice was Cookies Hotel. We were there around the 10th to 15th December 2012.... Which meant that accommodation was still fairly available. The flow of the pool area onto the beach is extremely charming and good... This in fact tilted the decision to stay there!! Whilst the rooms were spacious... The bathrooms are only adequate. Functional, but in need of an upgrade!! No internet in the room only in reception area and then not always working..!!. I loved the fact that we were able to step off our small balcony and almost jump directly into the pool, definitely a plus. Comfy rooms, a fairly good breakfast (included)and a so so bathroom... But a lovely ambiance made this a worthwhile hotel to look for!!! The cost was 2.800 bht per night as was very much the general price along that stretch of coast. Would we go back if we revisited Koh Chang....yes!

Room Tip: All the rooms centre around the pool.... So I would say a downstairs room beach/pool facing would be...

We stayed there in July and despite it was the green (low) season the hotel had a lot of visitors.
We stayed at the ground floor which was ideal with 2 children. They just had to open the door and jump right in to the pool or they could step right on the beach.
The rooms are ok only the bathroom was a little bit worn out.
The hotel was located at the busiest street from the island, surrounded by shops and restaurants but in the room and at the pool you could not hear a thing.
The visitors were international and we did meet other Belgians, people from The Netherlands, Switserland and so on.

Room Tip: choose a room at the beach side. They have as well rooms at the building at the oposite side of the...

Stayed at this hotel 2 weeks ago after a dreadful experience at a place called Para Resort in Koh Change.
Great price around £24 per night and £30 if wanting sea view, low season. Spacious room, clean, comfortable, basic and a bit dated furniture but everthing thing you need and best of all is the location. If you choose sea view room then it's just steps from the beach.
Price includes a buffet breakfast which was good but I wouldn't touch the salad, covered with flys because they don't cover it. The pool was lovely and loungers are provided.
We stay in the building across the road which is just off the main strip, with all the shops & restaurant. It is a bit noisy which isn't recommended if you're a light sleeper but the sounds usually die down after 1am, not too sure when it's peak season time though.
Staff were polite but don't speak much english.

Room Tip: Check out was very slow so make sure you leave plenty time to get to the ferry.
