“Nice place to stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2013

The hotel and the rooms are well-decorated and well-furnished. The room was nice and comfortable. Bath stuff are fully provided. The food are nice, especially, the breakfast-- there are tons and various kinds. However, the hotel got not much area and the hotel beach was short, so you cannot enjoy the swimming and beach activities that much. Anyways, it's a nice place to stay and staff are very helpful and nice.

We had the private pool villa and were there in June.
The private pool was nonsense as it has no ladder or steps ...making it critical for kids and I just don't like to crawl out of a pool like stranded. But the private access to one of the main pools was fine.
The beach is short, beside The Chill resort litered and only a smal stripe sand. Once you want to go in the water you walk on stones and corals...not possible to swim!
If you take a private pool villa, look for the ocean villa close to the beach with nice open view. The other 2 are slightly slammed together and have no view.
The 3rd one (ours) was at the start of that main pool and there dirt accumulated as the pool design has there a bad circulated corner.
Somehow I missed it that the huge space of the pool villa is on 2 floors what takes away. Other than this the equipment and standard was excelent....western standard and better.
All staff were super friendly. My wife , herself thai, enjoyed the SPA and reported that they really know what they are doing.
The breakfast was one of the best also considering the smaller size of the resort. A la carte but really a good variety....I have to say I hate buffet...class is a la carte!
Wireless all over the resort inclusive...here we go...this is class!
Very nice also that there are many smal shops and restaurants in front of the hotel. This gives you some chance to walk around and check more food around. The hotel restaurant was fine and they try having something for everyone, but hey its good to know that if one day you want something different there are many choices around.
I would say this resort is perfect for couples or singles more to chill and relax rather than beach fun.

Room Tip: Rooms with private pool access or if the villa only the ocean villa

My family and I just returned after 5 nights at The Chill - Koh Chang and should have been the best villa (beach front) - we must admit besides the good size of the villa (3 children and two adults) - nothing else is worth to recommend others. The hotel is not like the pictures - it´s not really clean, and it sincerely needs to be updated both inside and outside. Housekeeping is coming around 3pm - and they hardly speak english. Worse is for sure the beach - don´t visit the beach without shoes! It is filled with plastic bottles, broken glass, fish hooks, and lots of dirt from the sea - and lots of rocks. If you dream of white sand and easy swimming - sorry then you have come to the wrong place!!!!

I was on the Koh Chang Island for the second time, and it changed a bit in the past 3 years. I wanted to find some place for relax and to get really at ease. The Chill was perfect for it. We where there as a couple for 10 days. Really close to some restaurants and 7elevens. The beach was really small, but with no tourists and backpackers and hipsters on it. The White Sand beach was nothing special for us so it was great to have a quiet nice small beach. The see was ok, but with no reef. As for the rooms and the hotel, we had the splash rooms, but we didn't use the pool so often but it was nice to have it :) The bed was very comfortable, the AC a bit noisy. The atmosphere at the chill was really chill outed :D The breakfast was great the option for the whole day breakfast is awesome. It was served in a standard thai serving time, but we wasn't in a hurry. We had the pleasure to meet the owners of the hotel, very nice and helpfull people. The staff as well, a specially Mr. To To (I don't remember it, so sorry if it's wrong, the highest Mr. there :)). We really loved to stay there. It's not Six Senses, but It was really what we were searching for. To be honest we are searching a similar place in Indonesia or Vietnam right now :)

Room Tip: Take the Splash one, near the villas.

We were very disappointed when arriving from a really beautiful hotel in Huai Hin (the six senses Evason! A paradise...) to find this "motel like hotel". Really, between a motel in L.A and this one, there is not a lot of difference... And the staff was terrible. The swimming pool is big, so this was a plus. We had actually quite a laugh discovering every day more and more how crazy the whole atmosphere was... The manager was asking for my email address...And hassling the women staff as they told us... None of the supposed competent team was speaking proper english, not understanding anything we were asking them. The staff of the restaurant was not understanding what we were asking either. The staff was complaining to us about the terrible food they are getting to eat...which we believe they really get... The beds are in the middle of the room in the superior rooms...We just changed the place of the bed, not being able to sleep soundly with no head board and being in the middle of the room. Nothing is done to improve things in this hotel.
People are smoking cigarettes on the beach and leaving their ends in the sand, and no one tells them anything. We even had a crazy man in the room next door starting to shout during the night in his room at 3m and to start to throw around everything, and got scared for his wife and children, since we knew there was a family inside that night...We tried to call security, reception, no answer... I cannot imagine if one has some health problem during the night! No one is available for the clients during the night... We thought the whole atmosphere to be really bizarre...and fortunately we changed hotel to be super happy with our change! :-)

Room Tip: Higher floor, at least there's a view. The villas have smell of garbage, because the hotel bins...

We stayed there for 9 nights in May 2013. The hotel was nearly empty, except for one weekend when a lot of Thai families came for a long weekend. The service was really good and very friendly. The pool alone is worth a visit. Swimming in the sea is not so nice around the hotel, because of the reef that is very close to the beach. Rooms were cleaned twice a day. The food in the restaurant was great - one of the best we had in Thailand. We would definitely come back.

Room Tip: A splash room is the best choice - direct access to pool.

This hotel is very nice and very CHILL. The rooms are nice and the decor is superb. Also the hotel was very well designed. Situated 20 minutes from White Sands Beach (many bars) and 10 minutes from Lonely Beach, this is in a good location. The breakfast was very good and the hotel has an amazing view of the beach (many rocks and corals btw). However, the one thing that was hugely disappointing was the service (maybe it was because we were young, 20). The staff at times were rude and never listened to our requests. This is something that really annoyed us throughout the trip.
